Pink Moon
Nick Drake
WOW, simply wow, it'll be difficult to find the words that are deserving enough to describe this album but I'll do my best.
This was my first time listening to Pink Moon and it's the first I'd had heard of Nick Drake and almost immediately from the first chords I heard oof of the first track onbthe album I was instantly impressed and surprised, by the end of the first track I had seriously doubted my musical credentials and how I have gone this long in life not having come across such a talented musician.
There is a wondrousness and melancholy to this album that touches on some larger sense of sadness while the melody has this wisfulness and lightness to it complimenting the somewhat complicated nature of the sentiment behind the lyrics.
This is album is a must for anyone.

Really great, it's house dance at its best, a mix of funk and Electronica the track "Groove is in the heart" was unavoidable in the 90s it was everywhere radio, TV, films truly inescapable.
while I was still to young to properly appeciate them in the early 90s they are probably what lead to my love of trace and trip hop greats like Paul Oakenfold and The Chemical Brothers a decade later.

If you don't like this album don't worry you aren't weird and if you do like it don't worry you aren't weird.
They certainly threw all sorts of musical styles, sounds, and instruments at this album its a mix of folk, country, electronic and pop and more yet it somehow works. Overall, this album covers subjects like nature, peace, love, war, and drugs this album could have been written and recorded last week as to how relevant it still feels on much of that subject matter.
The track titled Draft Morning is a stark historical reminder of the draft and the never-ending war machine continually churning out casualties of war and conflict all in the name of profits and a stark reminder of the Vietnam war and in the historical context of 2022 the nearly unbroken half a century of war and conflict we as a nation have been involved in and how seemingly normal and a part of everyday life it's become.
A handful of songs later you'll come across "Tribal Gathering" this song touches on tribalism and groupthink and then a few more songs later you get a track like "Space Odyssey" it's weird and odd and just plain out there it's truly spectacular I can't imagine how it might have been received in the late 60s early 70s.

This is a story tellers’ album, lyrically this album is spectacular every song has rich and descriptive lyrics, with smooth rhythms and rhyming not relying on lyrical repetition or repetitive hooks even though it is present.
While this is not the most musically adventurous album its still very fun but in a safe, tried and true way of course this is an out of time review of an album from an age long before my time so it could well have been very forward back then.
That said, I found it to be a bit fatiguing with all the lyrics to pay attention to I couldn't really find a moment to just turn off and feel the music so by the end of the album I was happy to give my ears a break.
Overall happy to have listened to this album I'd recommend that every one listen to it at least once.

All Mod Cons
The Jam
The Jam borrows lightly from punk and introduces interesting melodies and tempos to some of their songs along side with tried and true melodies and lyrics of the era, making this an enjoyable and interesting album, bridging the gap between the 70s and 80s music scene.
Thoroughly enjoyable, if you find yourself not bobbing, air drumming or faux guitar playing along with each track then I suggest you check your pulse because you clearly are returned from the dead here only to eat brains and have somehow gotten a pair of headphones stuck on to your head while this album was playing, I assume it probably happened while munching on someone with good taste for music, probably why you found their brain so tasty.

This album is for somebody sadly that somebody is not me... the intro was composed as if it was intended as background music for an 80s ren-fair and frankly I would have enjoyed this album more if the rest of the songs carried a similar theme as to the intro.
Continuing on, if you were expecting anything more then VERY 80s hairband love sick puppy vibes then you are in luck this album is not for you however if you somehow find yourself enjoying the assault on your Tympanic membrane and singing along well... dang... I applaud your resilience and grit.

System Of A Down
System Of A Down
While it's great to listen to the debut album from System of the down their sound really matured and found itself with Toxicity and I'd really recommend leaving this album for the hard-core fans and giving Toxicity a listen first specifically starting with these songs in this order especially if this is your intro to this style of music and bane 1.Chop Suey! 2. Toxicity 3. Aerials 4. Dear Dance, and for a finally 5. X
enjoy!
