1001 Albums Summary

Vocals are so loud, like 3x as loud as the drums. beetje knullig. zit wel goed in mekaar maar het doet me niet zoveel

Started off strong, second half failed to capture me. Interesting fusion of different styles

The production is rough around the edges at times. I get the feeling that the production techniques couldn't quite keep up with the scope of the album. this in combination with the eccentricities that a lot of early psych has makes this album a more difficult listen than the later pink floyd albums. However if you can look past the rough production and try to imagine how the rougher moments were intended you'll find a lot of brilliant writing. Definitely not an album for everyone but i really enjoy it for what it is.

I had heard mr. blue sky before and i was interested to see what else could be done with this kind of sound. I was disappointed to find that, despite a rather long runtime, the whole album exists within a very similar vibe that doesn't really go anywhere. I would have loved to hear this concept be explored a bit more thoroughly. Beyond that none of the songs really spoke to me. Not that it's musically bad, it's just a bit too safe i guess?
