it’s definitely a close your eyes, turn off the lights, and just lay down album so it probably didn’t help that i was doing work while listening but regardless i can appreciate what radiohead accomplished with this album. it’s not necessarily something i’ll be listening to every single day of my life for the rest of my life but i can see the appeal and the critical acclaim. my favorite songs off of it are: Everything In Its Right Place, How to Disappear Completely, Idioteque, Morning Bell, Motion Picture Soundtrack, and Untiled (because, although short, it made me open my eyes wide because it felt angelic istg)
i love ABBA so so so much so i was very excited to finally sit down and listen to this full album. i wanna start off with the album cover because it’s literally gorgeous and i think it perfectly encapsulates the colors of the album: deep, warm oranges and reds. my favorite songs are: Head Over Heels, When All Is Said And Done, I Let The Music Speak, Slipping Through My Fingers, The Day Before You Came, and Under Attack. if i had to choose a least favorite song it would probably be Like An Angel Passing Through My Room but regardless i really liked this album!! :)
i hadn’t heard of jorge ben jor and i honestly regret not having heard him before because even with the first song it was already pretty good. my favorite songs were: Ponta De Lança Africana, Meus Filhos Meu Tesouro, Xica Da Silva, and Camisa 10 Da Gávea. a good album!!
this was another artist i had never heard of so i went into the album not really sure what to expect. it was pretty good although i do feel as if it went on for far too long but i think that is because it is two albums in one. i also think that this is a very front-loaded album and i found myself enjoying the first songs a lot more than the last songs. my favorite tracks were: Cannibal’s Hymn, There She Goes My Beautiful World, Nature Boy, The Lyre of Orpheus (which is my favorite song, may be because it’s good or because i like the story of orpheus and eurydice, you decide), and O Children. a good album, i think i would probably enjoy it more on a second listen.
another album by an artist i hadn’t heard of but even just by looking at the album cover, i was excited to listen. after listening, i have to say that it was a very good album. i did feel as if it had too many songs but there weren’t any that i felt dragged on for too long. my favorite songs were: Brothers Gonna Work It Out, 911 Is A Joke, Burn Hollywood Burn, and Who Stole The Soul?
while i had heard the kinks before (of course), i had never sat down to listen to one of their albums in its entirety. it’s very reminiscent of the beatles in my opinion. it was a good album but a somewhat forgettable one. regardless, my favorite songs were: Party Line, Rosy Won’t You Please Come Home, and Sunny Afternoon.
it was a fun album to listen to but not something i would listen to every single day. the production is dated but that is to be expected since it did come out in 1982. i’m sure it was revolutionary in its time but songs like Scorpio truly did not age well. my favorite songs were: She’s Fresh, It’s Nasty, and The Message (which is my favorite track off the album.)
a classic christmas album full of perfect christmas hits and it’s a must on any christmas radio. a bit crazy that a convicted murderer made such a cheery record.
my father had bought me a roxy music cd regardless of the fact that i had never heard them before but at least i now have an excuse to do so, right? the album was surprisingly good and i don’t think i was bored for a second throughout it. my favorite songs were: The Thrill Of It All, Three And Nine, All I Want Is You, Out Of The Blue, Bitter Sweet, A Really Good Time, and Prairie Rose.
