„Bad“: Great opener, lots going on soundstage-wise „The Way You Make Me Feel“: Another banger, strong start „Speed Demon“: Not sure how I feel about the motor sounds mixed in, but the guitar and beat continue to drive everything forward „Liberian Girl“: Feels a bit like a break, not just b/c it is a ballad, but also some weird exoticism vibes „Just Good Friends“: So funky! But ultimately, it seems way less remarkable than the songs before it „Another Part of Me“: Confused by the start, but really love the bridge and the bass line! „Man in the Mirror“: Another classic, with a great refrain and an even better key change / choir part. „I just can‘t…“: Not really for me, maybe 80s ballads are just not my thing? „Dirty Diana“: Strong guitar riffs, works well with MJ‘s voice. Don‘t know about the crying voice thing. „Smooth Criminal“: Easily in the top 3 of the album, such a great melody + energy. „Leave Me Alone“: Felt a bit like filler, but hard to follow up „Smooth Criminal“.

„Smooth Operator“: Sure, it‘s smooth, and it‘s a known quantity, but I‘m not really feelin the vibe „Your Love Is King“: Continues the theme, not sure if it makes sense continuing a song by song rating „Frankie‘s First Affair“: liked this one! „When I am going“: Caught myself quietly sit-dancing to this Some other decent songs on this, but overall not that engaging tbh

God how I loved this album in my teens. First contact was of course the big hit „D.A.N.C.E“, but the album is just one great dance experience after the other. Everything flows so seamlessly! It’s hard to overstate how new and exciting this all sounded to me back in the late 00s. There‘s probably just one song I regularly skipped: „Stress“. It‘s not bad per se, but pretty hard to listen to.

Decent album, even if it‘s not exactly my genre.

It felt like every other song was either about having sex all night long or being heartbroken. Not feeling it.

Solid album, pretty great riffs. Didn't completely grip me, maybe due to the topics of the lyrics or I could have just been too distracted while listening?

I like the The Cure, but was kinda unable to really get into this album. More 2 1/2 than 3. Might need to give it another try in the future..

Great beats, strong lyrics. Seems like I have to explore 90s rap.

There are 2-3 songs on this basically everyone know because they are just straight up 🔥. But honestly the whole album is strong, it‘s pretty great.

Strong album, although there are some songs that felt a bit like fillers.

Pretty fascinating album I would have probably never listened to. Two songs especially stood out to me: The Click Song & One More Dance. The first one because it had really catchy rhythm and the other one because it just felt really weird to have a guy laughing with those lyrics. The cover of House of Rising Sun was a bit too mellow for me.

I don‘t know a lot of Massive Attack songs, but some of these tracks were really not was I expected a Massive Attack album to sound like. Really fascinating mash-up of styles and genres. Especially liked the last track „Hymn of the Big Wheel“.

A decent album with Stevie Wonder showing his breadth and skill. Unfortunately, it felt a bit too long, at times unfocused. Closer a 4 than a 3.

„Groovy“, I say as I channel my inner flower child. „Way too meandering“, my Millennial pop-caramelized brain responds. Yes, it truly is the modern Faustian duality of man.
