Never listened to all the songs on this album before, just the popular ones. Really enjoyed finding a few new songs that I’ve added to some playlists, those songs being suffragette city and rock n roll suicide. Not one bad song on here so no reason not to give it 5
Whilst I like some of Slipknot's songs I had never actually listened to an album all the way through. After finishing I got what I kinda expected, quite liked some of the songs, others not so much. But then again as I'm not a massive fan of the genre, it would be tough to have a full album of songs I did like.
From an objective POV I give it 3/5 for the songs I did like alongside some of the guitar and drums on a few of the songs. (sic) was a highlight as I hadn't heard it before but did like
Short: ResidentSleeper
Long: Not just gonna blanket say this was bad as thats not true, but felt a lot of the songs kinda just blurred into one. Whereas with other albums, after one listen I can normally put name to song, but would fail to do so here.
Was apprehensive at first when I saw the album was 1hr 45mins long but after listening to it I lost track of time.
Some really good tracks on there some highlights being “Have a talk with god”, “Pastime Paradise” and “As”. This genre as a whole (R&B?) is pretty popular with me so every song was a fun listen, but those three stood out to me the most
Wasn’t a single song I wanted to skip and have added the album to my rotation so no reason not to give 5 stars
4 songs and 53 minutes long? Thought I was going to really enjoy this or really not and thankfully it was the former of the two
Ended up listening to twice as I enjoyed it so much. Never heard of the guy but definitely going to listen more in the future. In fact I hadn’t listened to this genre for a few years so it was quite refreshing.
Pretty neutral, not bad but not rushing to listen to again
Another fun jazz album that I hadn’t heard before. Perfect music for listening to whilst doing something else, probably wouldn’t listen to this particular album on its own in the same way I would with Zombie from a few days ago
Not sure whether or not to give a 3 or 4 (3.5 if I could) enjoy this genre and is the kind of album I’d happily listen to if someone put on, but probably won’t rush to listen to again
Love the genre/era of music so knew I'd enjoy this. Wouldn't say its the best album of the genre but I think the best album to show someone if they hadn't listened to Ice T before.
I think his story telling and word play is really good, this particular bit of New Jack Hustler stood out to me as an example.
Got me twisted, jammed into a paradox
Every dollar I get, another brother drops
Maybe that's the plan and I don't understand
God damn, you got me sinkin in quicksand
But since I don't know, and I ain't never learned
I gotta get paid, I got money to earn
The Tower had that Halloween sample on the beat which was really cool and there was probably others that I didn't realise. Also Body Count stuck out as it was completely different than the rest in being more of a rock song.
Would give more than 4 but less than 5.
Hadn’t heard this album before but really enjoyed listening to it, made my afternoon at work more enjoyable
