Sleep to Dream: 4/5. Strong start, meaningful lyrics throughout. Sullen Girl: 2/5. Suffers from slowness and meh instrumentals. Shadowboxer: 2/5. The "cabaret" style gets lost with tíme; gives off Adele. Criminal: 3/5. Good "driving music", but lyrics don't stick out. Slow Like Honey: 1/5. Wish this song were faster unlike honey. Skipped! The First Taste: 2/5. Had good start, it turned slow again, falling asleep. Never is a Promise: 1/5. Suffers from slowness, my god! The Child is Gone: 1/5. I'm glad or sorry that it happened. Pale September: 1/5. I didn't even notice the song change to this, so sleepy! Carrion: 2/5. Somewhat better, but late to redeem oneself.

The Dark of the Matinée: 4/5. I dig the opening and all the rest. Auf Achse: 5/5. Great build-up and strong narration. What's not to like! Cheating on You: 3/5. An unexpected drop in quality. This Fire: 4/5. Don't admit to crimes, especially not in songs! But this is fire. Darts of Pressure: 3/5. It's alright. Michael: 3/5. Did Michael come and dance with him? Come on Home: 3/5. Dynamic start but gets slow in the end. 40': 4/5. Kind of like a serenade, good stuff.

Tears Of Rage: 2/5. Right off the bat, I should say I don't like roots rock. To Kingdom Come: 2/5. Slightly better rhythm, but the gospel's meh. In A Station: 4/5. Really loved this one, great narration and playfulness! Caledonia Mission: 1/5. Very surrealist lyrics, was not easy to the ear. The Weight: 2/5. And we're back at the church motifs... We Can Talk: 1/5. Those Canadians are crazy. Long Black Veil: 3/5. Has good pace, but what's the message here? Chest Fever: 3/5. Good beat, weakened only by the surrealist wordings. Lonesome Suzie: 4/5. Despite the church vibes, the lyrics are fantastic. This Wheel's On Fire: 4/5. Excellent instruments, lyrics are also fine. I Shall Be Released: 1/5. Whiny and uninspiring, sad way to end the album.
