Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock

Pretty good, groundbreaking, but not my jam.

Blue by Joni Mitchell

Fantastic singing, but the songs didn't immediately grab me.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Mar 02 2023

Love the glam rock - it's a fun listen & Bang a Gong bangs! Very listenable, lots of attitude, love it!

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Mar 03 2023

Album started slow, but has some catchy tunes. It's got quite a variety. While I don't love it it's interesting, some of the songs I'll add to a regular playlist I keep.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Mar 05 2023

Stunning, what a solid record start to finish! Love it.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Mar 06 2023

Loved this - it sounds so psychedelic consistently throughout, yet each song feels like it's own. I heard so many sounds and riffs that influenced artists after this was released.

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Mar 10 2023

This grew on me as I listened - new and different, yet familiar. It's really well-layered and nuanced. Looking forward to giving it more listens, I think it'll keep revealing more and more each time!

Mar 12 2023

Dwight sounds timeless, unlike all his peers making a buck off the country music trends of the day.

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.
Mar 20 2023

Love the rawness, this will grow on me over time. Wish I ran across this back when I graduated high school.

Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk
Mar 21 2023

Slowly grew on me as I listened, really great album, ahead of it's time.

Boston by Boston
Mar 22 2023

Heard it so much, but still brings on the nostalgia!! It's a 5, but a 4 for me!!

1984 by Van Halen
Mar 23 2023

This hit in high school, got a ton of play from me and my friends. Has a special spot in my heart.

Odessa by Bee Gees

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
May 22 2023

There are parts I love but they don't seem to mesh into something I truly dig. The music is awesome, I like Ian's singing style - I felt Morrison vibes at times, which I like. Perhaps will give it a few more listens.

Guero by Beck
May 23 2023

Still sounds fresh even though familiar, loved it!

Pelican West by Haircut 100
May 24 2023

Heard some nuggets that sounded familiar and funky, but overall didn't do anything for me as an album.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
May 25 2023

Some monster Stone tunes on this record, some that sound like jam sessions trying to mimic American music that happened to be recorded. Like a lot of Stones records there's some killer tunes, and some dudes, which I can live with.

Tragic Songs of Life by The Louvin Brothers
May 26 2023

I made it through about 15 minutes. I'm sure it was pretty good for it's time - it didn't resonate with me.

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Apr 08 2024

There are a few songs I really like. He's unique and a treasure, but I never have gotten into his catalogue. Will give it a few more listens.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Apr 13 2024

Pretty good, groundbreaking, but not my jam.

Guitar Town by Steve Earle
Apr 11 2026

Maybe I've listened to this several times, but it still feels new, still feels different, and at the time wasn't like anything I'd heard. Maybe it's because it sounds a bit like Texas to me. For a debut album, I think it shows really strong songwriting and listenability - lyrically kinda meh in spots. It didn't fit the cookie cutter country songs of the late '80s early '90s. It's refreshing to hear something different than original, musically. I won't listen to it often, but there's some really good tunes on here and you can learn a lot about songwriting. 2.5 out of 5.
