1001 Albums Summary

It took me until I was 35 too come around to the Stones. This would not have been the album to change my mind. Too same-y but I with no cohesive through line.

Not a big fan of the Hammond Orfan, but Jimmy made it it work. The album is enjoyable, but probably not one I would revisit.

Quintessential 80's without the staying power of the someone of his peers. Quite a few songs start rough but finish strong. Perfect and Giant being highlights of the album. The Twilight Hour sounds like a bad Bowie album.

I can't really add anything that hasn't been written. Firmly grounded in East coast hip hop while also raising the bar. You can't really call yourself a hip-hop head and at least appreciate Illmatic. Unless of course you are just in to ring tone rap or mumble.

One of the great singer songwriters at the peak of their game. I have a listened to some of these songs more often than I can count.

Starts of very strong l, but fades in the back half,with Check Yo Self. Not Ice Cube'best, but better than most rapper's bests.

It's just not for me. I know they are influential, so maybe it is just a failing in myself. I am a fan of the most of the artists that claim GO4 as an influence though. This rating is not saying I think they are a one, I was just happy there album as over.

I know this is blasphemous, but it sounds like The Beatles with a different singer, and I don't know really care for The Beatles.

Good album that goes on way too long.

Another album that is too long. This is a rarity though where the middle third is the strongest.

Solid downbeat electronica, the music industry listen to when I don't want to to pay attention to what I am listening too.

It's Wu. There is nothing I can can add to what has already been written. Wu-Tang is for the children.

Eric Clapton is a tool, but you can't deny either his or Ginger Baker's skill. It's a shame that the lyricism and vocals don't match.

Far better than I thought it would be. The album needs better separation of vocals and instruments plus they could have been louder.

Some gems, but way to long and self indulgent.

Maybe if you were on Molly for them first time and have never heard electronica before.
