Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Mar 10 2023

I liked the most popular song Disorder. The album was kind of drony. I usually like that sound but here it was just generic to me. Overall in a style I enjoy but nothing remarkable to me. I imagine this album influenced a lot of stuff I like but it's simply too old.

Back In Black by AC/DC
Mar 13 2023

I listened to AC/DC a lot in high school. This is a great classic rock album with several songs every one knows. Honestly still a banger. 1981 so still early in the 80s. Going to accentuate the CLASSIC in classic rock.

Blur by Blur
Mar 14 2023

The first two songs are awesome. Song 2 is the background music from a childhood viral video that I was in love with, Warthog Jumping in Halo. A lot of this album sounds kind of the same after those first two songs. I enjoy this style of music. It might be too similar for me to listen to while working because a lot of it is forgettable. 3.5 mostly because 12 of the songs are forgettable.

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Mar 15 2023

Nice variety on this album. Fun guitar licks in the songs. Quite short and honestly I had trouble getting through it anyway but might have just been a day I lacked focus. Still, most of it's quality. Even the songs that aren't popular by spotify standards are good on their own merit.

The Healer by John Lee Hooker
Mar 16 2023

Nice to get a new genre in the mix. Especially something I don't listen to normally. Title track was good. I enjoyed the album but nothing spectacular. 3.5/5

Under Construction by Missy Elliott
Mar 17 2023

Honestly wish I was into hip hop when I was a teenager. But I wanted to reject anything my classmates were into. This albums good. Obviously I know work it but 5-6 of the tracks are really good. Like most albums there's some eh songs but I thoroughly enjoyed.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Mar 20 2023

I've tried to listen to the Talking Heads before and I'm never that into it. The album is fine. I like the sound and tone of all the songs but it never draws me in.

Heartattack And Vine by Tom Waits
Mar 21 2023

This was fine. The title track was good. His voice is certainly iconic. Fun to be exposed too but not something I'm gonna seek more of.

Ocean Rain by Echo And The Bunnymen
Mar 22 2023

This journey is interesting as I hear precursors to a lot of stuff I like to listen to today. This sounds like 2000s indie stuff. It's so interesting what actually makes it out of a decade into pop culture because I never hear 80s' music that sounds exactly like some of the stuff I love today. Anyway it's good but not memorable. I like it better than the talking heads though.

Planet Rock: The Album by Afrika Bambaataa
Mar 23 2023

3.5/5 I like this album more than a lot of what I've listened to. Honestly on a personal level I give it a 4 but thats my objective rating. I hear the modern hiphop precursors in this album heavily.

Two classics on this album, Big Iron and El Paso. Brings me back to running around the wastelands in Fallout 3
