Debut by Björk
Mar 20 2023

Very good, much better than I was expecting. I had never listened to Bjork before, and had always assumed her music was fringe material... loud and unmelodic with a niche appeal. Instead, the music was very accessible and there are some really good tunes on here. I particularly liked the percussion. A very original work.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Mar 21 2023

One of those great '70's albums that everyone you knew seemed to own back then. Into The Mystic is one of my all time favorite songs.

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
Mar 23 2023

Not for me. Some good beats and interesting riffs, but overall I thought it sounded like generic rock as chatGPT might imagine it. I stopped halfway through.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Mar 24 2023

I just couldn't get into this style of music. I respect what he's trying to do, but it didn't click with me.

Rust In Peace by Megadeth
Mar 27 2023

I didn't think I was going to like this one, but I gave it a listen. 40 minutes later... It turns out I was right. I didn't get anything out of it. I was wishing I had it on a 78 turntable so it would end sooner. Next album please.

The Slider by T. Rex
Mar 28 2023

I had never heard of this album or any of the songs on it, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Good beat with some nice hooks.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Mar 29 2023

It's not the kind of music I would normally choose to listen to. I get the sense with rock musicians though that often louder = better, as in a foreign country where a non-native speaker tries to make himself understood by speaking louder. I thought of few of these songs were just a little over the top in that way. There were some very good tunes on here though, and I could recognize the quality of the musicianship. The guitar work was pretty impressive and even dazzling sometimes. I had mixed feelings on this one. Overall, I'd say that I liked the album, but I think it could have been a lot better.

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Mar 30 2023

It reminded me a lot of the Van Halen album, only not as good. Nothing stuck with me - the music had the sound of generic rock, with stereotype lead vocals and riffs. Excellent musicians, but I didn't think the material was up to their abilities, like actors doing their best with a mediocre script.

S&M by Metallica
Mar 31 2023
The Rise & Fall by Madness
Apr 11 2023

I liked their style and variety. I wasn't able to listen to all the songs on Spotify, but I liked the ones I did hear.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers

Fun and a nice break from the albums offered over the last week or two.
