1001 Albums Summary

I was kind of over it by the time You Can't Fade Me came on. I like a few songs (not on this album) by Ice Cube but this was not it for me. The fact that he had to bash and bring up women in order to make a song makes me dislike it so much more.

I'm the kind of person that listens to the beat before I pay attention to the lyrics and I was hooked on the first song. It transitions so well with different sounds. All the songs mesh so well together its so mesmerizing. Also just found out Phil Collins is in the group love that. Only disliked one song and the rest was just transcending. Very much would want to listen to this on psychedelics.

I was really interested in listening to this because of how polar the reviews were. I fell a little towards meh. I skipped more tracks than finishing which was disappointing. Really was not memorable. Saved Tracks: Home Is Where You Hang Your Head I Want You

I want to like this album so bad but the lyrics are just so mediocre and gross at times. I love the beats and the idea is so cool. Its just when there's 2 min of record scratching or sexualizing a gynecologist visit? Like that's so weird! When have you ever heard someone sexualize a colonoscopy? Like what does that have to do with being a mad scientist? I know this is a debut album so I'm still giving credit the cover is pretty cool. Honestly skipped multiple tracks due to the lyrics being to uncomfortable. Horrible start to the 2024 album review list.

Overall very much a 3.5 the first song reminded me of being stuck in a retail store forever and hearing that on a loop. The rest of the album was honestly really good. 2,3,4,5,8 and 9 were my favorites. Really liked the blues inspired track. Not a bad album but not the best.
