1001 Albums Summary

This is a great album—solid musicianship, great vocals. I love the live recording and I’m not usually a fan of live recordings.

I don’t think I’d actively listened to Smith before, and this was more my speed than I expected. Gentle, enjoyable.

Danny Elfman cosplaying as a vampy emo David Bowie at times, overall left me cold.

Phenomenal. She was a massive talent and—though beloved while alive—underrated.

An excellent, straight-ahead rock and roll album. So much more raw and fun than his later career stuff.
