The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Sep 14 2023

Really thoroughly enjoyed the first half, but the second half was a bit too mopey for me

I don’t think this genre is really for me, but I really loved the tracks that stood out to me (Victoria, Some Mother’s Son, Shangri-La, Arthur). Some Mother’s Son in particular made me have to stop what I was doing and sit still while I listened to it, it was incredibly powerful. Driving and Australia felt really dire though.

Chelsea Girl by Nico

Uh I’m so sorry but this was diabolical :(

Skylarking by XTC
Sep 17 2023

I don’t think this is really my vibe but it made nice background music for tidying up! I found Dear God pretty chilling. It was otherwise kind of hard to distinguish between the songs, they all sounded very similar

American Gothic by David Ackles
Sep 18 2023

He has a very emotive voice, Midnight Carousel sounds like it could've come from a Sondheim musical. I particularly love his sense of humour!

I love this record so very much. It's my 'get shit done' music. Very excited for the vault tracks on the rerecorded version!

Moondance by Van Morrison
Sep 20 2023

I enjoyed this one! I love his voice and the energy. He sounded like he was crying on track 3, and I should look up what that's about
