1001 Albums Summary

This is an album full of songs that I did not need to hear, but in the middle of it, you'll hear songs like "Girl" and "Rip Off" that make you actually pay attention to it because it sounds like they actually tried. I'm sure this is a classic to some people, but it's not my cup of tea.

Very cool album, there are definitely some tracks on here I’d go back to. Hearing Alabama Shakes before Nina definitely skewed my opinion because i can’t not hear Brittany when I listen to Ms. Simone.

The first five songs on this one almost made me not finish it, but Long Hot Summer Night turned it from being just another 60s album to: “oh, I see why people are still talking about this one over 50 years later.” Favorite song is definitely 1983.

This album is way too long. Clocking in at just above 2 hours and it doesn’t keep your attention the entire time. All the songs start to bleed into one another, but it’s also all over the place at the same time. The slower piano-led songs are definitely better than the rock oriented songs and there’s way more rock than piano. I’d definitely never listen to this again.
