Heroes by David Bowie
Oct 06 2023

Some songs sound modern as hell but some lyrics seem a little dated. Could do without the extremely long piano and horn duet midway through. Definitely some enjoyable parts , some songs worth a relisten. The soundscape part of the album seriously drags it down though. Starts off well enough but ends annoyingly

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Oct 09 2023

Starts off fun! Singer seems like he's enjoying himself which I love. Almost feels like a musical or theatre song. I'm into it at the start. This was sick. I actually wanna listen to it again. Apparently it WAS based on a musical. Awesome album

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Oct 10 2023

So far it's fun but maybe not living up to my premade expectations. Listened twice and nothing really jumped out at me.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Oct 11 2023

Tonight tonight is a good song but I already knew that. The album gets a lot harder right after that, quite a pivot. Good 90s energy. Also it's crazy how many singles I recognize on this album. No wonder it's on the list

Be by Common
Oct 12 2023

I know a common song but I can't remember which. I wonder if I'll recognize anything here. First song has Kanye on it, I wonder how common feels about their relationship. Also sounds like he's on the second song too. He appears multiple times throughout haha. Overall enjoyable. Definitely has a Chicago vibe. Also had one song that reminded me of Nas almost. Surprised to have it end so soon it felt like. Not bad at all

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Oct 13 2023

It wasn't terrible but I don't think I'd ever choose to play this. I get why people liked it but it seems like I had already heard all the songs even though I only recognized one. Definitely has his own style.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Oct 16 2023

Only listened once. Radiohead is kind of hard to get into. Can never understand Thom Yorke singing but they have their own sound for sure. I would give this another shot (and probably will) but for now 2 stars

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Oct 17 2023

Sounded basically exactly what I predicted. Seems so generic

Immigrés by Youssou N'Dour
Oct 18 2023

I'm sure this would be more interesting with some context but as far as enjoyable music, I don't think id ever care to hear this again

Beyond Skin by Nitin Sawhney
Oct 19 2023

Didn't finish so maybe unfair. But it started off OK but then some of the parts were so bad it turned me off the whole thing. This album was a head scratcher
