Brothers In Arms
Dire StraitsSome nice guitar here and there. Not a huge fan of the vocals. 1.5/5

Definitely influenced modern shoegazey folky music. Some raw instrumentals, interesting vocal decisions that make it feel risky but also a bit dated. Feels like teenage angst, a horse throat, walking with your hood up. Very horny, needs to touch grass. Stand outs: Blister in the Sun, Marimbas on Gone Daddy Gone, Good Feeling
Already loved it. Blues forward Heavy Metal. Drumming is amazing, thonky and groovy.
It's uhhh good. Emd meets Indie, I don't love it besides New York I Love You
Maybe one of the most perfect albums ever made. I used to listen to Coldplay CDs in the car with my dad, so much that I keep expecting to hear skips at certain places where the CDs were scratched from use. Melancholy, wistfulness, an genuine feeling of wanting to be better than the worst parts of ourselves. I love this album so much. The songs parachutes and life is for living are just perfect. 1000/10
The devil's in the details. (Or a new dress) Kanye is excellent at production as always, there are a lot of fun sounds and dope features (Rick Ross and Nikki stand out) on this album and a great overarching attempt at a theme. It's undercut by 1. Kanye being excessively horny. 2. Kanye referencing a lot with little substance, specifically in regards to racism in America. (Call me Malcom West is uh, corny at best.) 3. He has these big ideas for theme that start out clever and fizzle. Like using the sample Still from Bon Iver on Lost in the world could have ended hauntingly and then just ends up being topic-less sort of dance number. You could argue some of the vapid lyrics are intentional, I don't really think that's the case. 3/5 Some of my favorite songs are on this album.
Doesn't really grab you on the first listen, I don't love the sound mastering here, the best parts are too quiet. But if you give it another go there are some really fun bits of piano and guitar work that shine through. Really no stinkers on on this album, no 5/5s either. I'm at like a 3.5 on this.
It's a House album that doesn't make you want to dance, except Ottos's Journey which is an honest to god banger. If you like Trance or are rolling the album is probably for you. A lot of it is more similar to "lofi beats you can study to" than a House album. That being said there's some good sampling and not bad in the background. 2/5
I can't say anything really besides this album is actually boring. I skipped almost every song before I got halfway through. 1/5
Wow, I feel like if this album came out in 2012 it would have fit right in. Way ahead of its time and seemed to pave the way for indie folk. I'm hearing Florence and the Machine, Madonna, Ingrid Michaelson, Iron and Wine. Interesting harmonies and instrumentals. This made me go listen to her debut album and it's so good. Big fan. 5/5
Interesting album. A bluesy, jazzy, fun rhythm all the way through. On some songs he's whispering about the saddest day, on others it's like he's growling his heart out. Very enjoyable, a few snoozers. 4.5/5
Elton John if he leaned into a more southern bluegrass thing. Stay with me is great, the rest of it is goodish. 2.5/5
Country at its best. Connected some of the pop diner style singing with Spanish guitar and classic country storytelling. I already liked him because of Big Iron, El Paso is now one of my favorite songs ever.
Not my favorite Prince record, fun, synthy, repetitive. Horny in ways Kanye wishes he was. 2.5/5
Some nice guitar here and there. Not a huge fan of the vocals. 1.5/5
A lot to love here, country meets rock. You either love or hate his tone and I love it. Southern Man is a great song. 4.5/5
A classic EDM album, song great songs on here to introduce people to the genre. If you haven't yet go watch some of their music videos, they are a ton of fun.
Incredible Jazz figure, one of the greats. Literally nothing to add besides if you want to hear incredible improvisation, this is the record.
Wow, the blending of American Jazz/African rhythms is out of this world. A one of a kind group. Killer stuff.
I just feel like I've heard the same style of songs done better by other artists. Not a bad listen, just not memorable. Some songs remind me of the later Beatles, some stuff is blues-rock forward. A little too mellow. 1.5/5
Great voice, mostly covers.
This album was a trip, the European folk parts had me going "huh this would be great in Skyrim". The rest was decent/fun. 3/5
1990s Catch me if you can type beats. Prefer solid listen, nothing jumps out to be honest. 2.5/5
