This is a close to a perfect album. In one performance, Nirvana showed the world that they didn't need to scream or play really loudly to completely blow you away. After stripping things down acoustically they revealed how incredible their songs really are. Many of the songs in this performance surpass their album counterparts. Kurt also used this moment to introduce the world to some of his favorite artists by doing inspired renditions of songs like "The man who sold the world", "Lake of Fire" and "Oh Me". This album is still relevant 30 years later and a true testimant to what an amazing band Nirvana was.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Oct 23 2023

This album has some great classics like bad moon rising and one I forgot about, green river, which is great. Overall the album is a little slow for my taste but I can see why they were so popular back in the day.

Oct 24 2023

You can really hear the Beatles influence on this album, and several tracks that sound like they could have been on an early Beatles album. That simple poppy melodies, especially on the song "just can't sleep". Then you get to that striking track "You really got me now" that has such a great sound. Overall not a super memorable album for me but I think it just hasn't aged well and can be hard to judge when so much has come after it.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Oct 26 2023

Bruce Springsteen's music has always been about storytelling and this album is no exception. He captures the magic of moments in his life and encapsulates them so well into songs. The whole album is solid and joyous to listen to.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Oct 30 2023

I had never heard of this artist but really enjoyed this album. It holds up really well for being almost 60 years old.

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Oct 31 2023

Probably my least favorite of Jimi's albums but still has some incredible tracks like "little wing", "castles made of sand" and "Bold as love"

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nov 02 2023

This is the album that, for me, established them as one of the greatest rock bands to emerge from the 90s. A continuation of that funky style they established in their earlier albums which solidified into this incredible album with so many iconic songs. I could give the album 4 stars if the only song on it was "Under the bridge", but there are so many incredible tracks like "Breaking the girl", "Give it away", "Suck my Kiss", "I could have lied". It's an incredible album from an incredible era in music.

The Gilded Palace Of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers
Nov 03 2023

Definitely the template for country rock albums! Considering how old it is I found it pretty enjoyable and it held up well.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Nov 08 2023

I had to double check that this was the right album. This is drastically different from the "beach boy" sound I'm used to. Its striking how great sound fidelity is on this album but I think I prefer the style they are known for.

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
Nov 09 2023

I discovered Meat puppets through Nirvana which makes it really tough to not prefer the cover versus the original. I don't like the singers voice but they have some really great songs.
