1001 Albums Summary

I really want to like RadioHead. I really do. And I keep trying. It’s mostly just noise and I really want to find the genius so many others do, but I guess it’s just not for me aside from a few songs.

This album was a great second for me - a big pickup from yesterday and my start. It absolutely belongs on this list. Every song is a hit and signs of more to come. Ten, and Nirvana’s Nevermind, together killed the 80’s scene and music. Hairbands faded quickly into black.

Solid Tom Petty, but not really my true genre. Mad respect for his contributions to songwriting and marijuana advocacy...

I never want to hear a hi-hat open strike again after the first two tracks. I’ll take the blow and leave the music behind. Ok-ish ride for most of it tho…

Pure decadence and bliss. This album, and this group of Brits, changed my life for the better. My 12 year old self was properly guided by their tones and tunes.

I’m on a plane headed back from Vegas. My ears hurt. I did not like this. I’m curious if the band sees this as “deep and meaningful art”. If so, they may be the types who find a particularly interestingly (or not) laid dog turd as “art”.

OK. Not great. Americana / soft rock and occasionally a stepped on cat.

Couldn’t make it through all the creepy child rape and uncle bits. The hits are there, of course, but the rest is garbage and sounded like they were making it up as the album was being recorded. The repetitive, out of key, and out of sync lyrics were too much. This is no Wall, that’s for damn sure.

Simplistic with periodic peaks that mostly sounded like A Midwest hairband. I like the graphics better than I like the music.

I swear that bastard was playing eighth notes on ONE piano key for an ENTIRE song. Lyrics are weak and repetitive, music simplistic and sometimes just noise over what could have potential to be a good song. Ditch the keyboard player and you'd have a decent garage band. Very 80's. Oof. I am starting to lose faith in this list.

Classic. Some of these songs I have heard way too many times and I am not sure I need to hear again, but classic nonetheless.

Meh. 80s AI pop. One decent song that was a hit, the rest cheap bubblegum used to fill the gaps. No need to revisit this one.

James Taylor as James Taylor always is... mellow, but good. Not in my playlist but certainly in my past. I will give him 3 just to not be a hater on a Friday.

Solid. Enough.

I really liked this one. Barely sounded like The Cure. Props!

Never heard of them. Liked it. Nice to bounce to at the standing desk. Would have bet money it was 80's tho...

Not so much for me. Had some good points and I will give it three stars because I heard a banjo.

Neil Young. Meh.

80's mod, emo, look at me I am so sad regurgitation. Not terrible, not great, just meh. I used to really be into them. My silly young self.

Songwriting and soul. Post-punk mellow gold. Love it!

Classic. Phish does most of them better, but classic nonetheless.

Rubbish. I’m beginning to have serious doubts in this list.

I’ll give her pop props for bringing it. Not my thing, but I get it. It was good to ride the stationary bike to.

Excellent. Smooth. Perfect background for lobster bisque and a fire in a cabin in Western NC.

Talent for sure. Sleeper tho.

Not as bad as I have anticipated. Enjoyed skipping into the madness a bit.

More Soul then Rock for certain, but OK. Good roots for sure.
