The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Nov 02 2023

• rating : three of five • overall thoughts : I enjoyed the album at some times but not at others. Fantastic sequencing, however many of the songs blend into eachother a little too much, making them sounds very same-y. I'm also normally a fan of the Madchester sound but it didn't do it for me this time. • overall favourite track : 'I Wanna Be Adored' • best tracks : 'I Wanna Be Adored', 'She Bangs The Drum', 'Made Of Stone' and 'I Am The Resurrection'. • instruments : big fan of the basslines on many tracks. use of non-instrumental noise provides nice atmosphere but can get messy and forgettable at times. • background : major jumpscare (affectionate) to see Peter Hook producing on 'Elephant Stone'.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Nov 03 2023

heavy blues influences aren't exactly my thing, however several of the songs were great and a few are extremely memorable (for their greatness or for their popularity, I can't tell. If not both) favorite track : 'Love Her Madly'

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Nov 04 2023

thoughts : big fan of the chill vibe overall and really enjoyed the nostalgic, almost childlike, feel of the album. I've only ever listened to some of Lou Reed's solo stuff, but this might make me look into that and VU a little more. favourite tracks : 'The Murder Mystery' and 'After Hours'

Nov 05 2023

not an album I thought I'd ever end up listening to (though, this is nowhere near the first time I've heard 'Free Bird'). I'm not the biggest fan of somewhat southern tunes and extended guitars solos but some of the tracks actually turned out to be bangers tbh. favourite track : 'Simple Man'

Nov 06 2023

pretty big sounds that I'm not particularly used to but, surprisingly, I kinda enjoyed it. Quality dipped halfway through the album only to increase drastically for the final four tracks, all of which I quite liked. Very 2000s teen vibes. favourite track: 'Knights of Cydonia'

Queen II by Queen
Nov 07 2023

as familiar as I am with Queen's hits, this is the first time I'm listening to an album in full and it was fairly good. Definitely interesting to look at the bands more "underrated" tracks. favourite track : 'The March Of The Black Queen'

Nov 08 2023

I can see why people would  enjoy this album but frankly I found it boring. Stewart's raspy vocals are cool but paired with bland songs it really isn't so impressive. favorite track : '(I Know) I'm Losing You'

Private Dancer by Tina Turner
Nov 09 2023

fantastic overall, several bangers, incredible vocals. Questionable production and instrumentals, but good nonetheless. favourite track : '1984'

Kimono My House by Sparks
Nov 10 2023

perhaps one of my favourite albums. incredibly unique, incorporates my favourite genres, fantastic instrumentals, interesting vocals, and enjoyable all around. not a single complaint. favourite track: i couldn't choose they're all bangers

Revolver by Beatles
Nov 11 2023

as hyped as The Beatles are, this was actually better than I was expecting. They are a little too joyous and whimsical for me, but I can't deny that it's an album full of hits. favourite track : 'Here, There and Everywhere'

Tonight's The Night by Neil Young
Nov 12 2023

put this off for a day thinking I wouldn't be interested, I was kind of right? generally a fan of the sound and vibes, Young's vocals are a little grating at times and I really despise that harmonica. Pretty cool guitar solos, though. would rate it 3.5/5 if possible. favourite track : 'Lookout Joe'

Songs Of Love And Hate by Leonard Cohen
Nov 13 2023

a bit too slowly paced for me but it was beautiful nonetheless. not a fan of Cohen's vocals at times, but his songwriting is divine throughout the entire album. favourite track : 'Avalanche'

not a fan of the country sounds, but some songs are quite catchy. Fairly strange to listen to half an hour of bad lovers. favourite track : 'The Shoe Goes on the Other Foot Tonight'

Low-Life by New Order
Nov 17 2023

slight bias as someone who is already New Order fan, but I do really like this album. Lovely lyrics and vibes and just some funky sounds. Always been a bit iffy on the vocals, though. favorite track : 'Face Up'
