Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Nov 23 2023

Had never heard of Nick Drake prior to this. The album has some nice fingerpicking as well as utilizes some of the string section and cool percussion instrument which gives it a very different vibe from what you see in most music today. Wasn’t a super big fan of how breathy he sings though. He also structured a lot of the songs weirdly which made them feel really long even when there weren’t and not in a good way. Not sure this was a must listen. Does seem like some of the songs would fit really well in a Autumn indie movie though. 2/5

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Nov 24 2023

Honestly not a lot I can say about the album. It’s solid. Pretty much what you would expect from Paul Simon. I enjoyed it and would listen to it again. Favourite track Mother and Child Reunion or either of the Blues on the album.

Play by Moby
Nov 27 2023

Interesting album for sure. Didn’t know much about Moby prior so wasn’t sure what to expect and I feel like I’ve heard quite a few of these songs before in commercials. Lots of randoms samples and what not overall pretty cool 3/5

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Nov 28 2023

I enjoyed this album. Honestly confused when listening to it that I had never heard of this band before. I would definitely listen to this again. Really enjoyed the guitar throughout.

The White Album by Beatles
Nov 29 2023

I mean it’s the Beatles. They are one of if not the most popular band of all time. Not my favourite album they ever put out but still a classic.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Nov 30 2023

Had to look this band up. Found out they were Canadian which is pretty cool. But they are from Montreal which may be the reason why I didn’t connect with this album as much as others online did. Still a solid indie-rock album not sure anything off it would make it into my normal rotation though.

Dec 01 2023

Super fun record. Looked them uo and was cool to see all the different hats and whatnot they wear during performances. Would definitely listen again.

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Dec 04 2023

It was alright. Pretty basic pop album and probably only made the list because of Our Lips are Sealed which is definitely iconic so I will give it that.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Dec 05 2023

Cool to know this is the debut album for Tom petty and the Heartbreakers. Definitely not my favourite but had a lot of good songs on it. Felt like a super quick listen which made me go back and look and it was 10 songs only 30 minutes total which feels crazy but all in all the guitar was nice and the classic Tom Petty voice most people recognize made it quite enjoyable.

Shadowland by k.d. lang
Dec 06 2023

Started pretty slow but actually turned out to be an album I enjoyed. Not that I would go out of my way to listen to it again but it had some nice songs with a kind of folky/country vibe which is not really what I thought of when I thought of k.d. lang. which gave me some new perspective. As far as debut albums go this is pretty solid.

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Dec 07 2023

Shining star starts off the album and is definitely the most popular song off the album and for a good reason. Outside of that though I didnt love it some of the songs were just too long and others just had too much going on for me making it feel chaotic and not in a good way more of an anxiety inducing way.
