While punk isn’t my goto genre, I really love the Dead Kennedys. Jello has a particularly impactful style of delivering his lyrics and the band can play. I was first exposed to them listening to Holiday in Cambodia and while is still have to be in the mood to listen, I think this album is great.

Astral Weeks by Van Morrison
Dec 08 2023

I really don’t enjoy Van Morrison’s vocals. They grate on me. The music is fine, songs well crafted but I just can’t get passed the whining

Tommy by The Who
Dec 11 2023

You have to be in the right mood to listen to a rock opera and it was good that I was. A very lush and complex album, The Who paint a great story. Pinball Wizard is still the stand out track but a very enjoyable listen all round

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Dec 12 2023

This album is great. Whether listening to every note on headphones or in the background, Isaac’s great voice and the majestic arrangements are perfect.

Smile by Brian Wilson
Dec 13 2023

An amazing album. Brian Wilson has crafted an amazing sound and not a hair out of place.

D by White Denim
Dec 14 2023

I’d never heard of this album or this band until yesterday so it was great to listen to something really fresh. I enjoyed it a lot, kind of like a Beck meets Wilco vibe with a few Steely Dan licks

Crazysexycool by TLC
Dec 18 2023

Funky but a little repetitive for my ear. An enjoyable listen and 90’s nostalgic

Ramones by Ramones
Dec 19 2023

The original and the best. It’s the sort of album where I wish I had a Time Machine so that I could here it when it was first released to truly understand how it exploded

Ctrl by SZA
Dec 20 2023

I enjoyed this album way more than I expected to, given the amount of auto-tune in it (which is my pet hate). The songs are well constructed over good bass and drum loops and when she sings SZA’s vocals are great

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Dec 22 2023

I got to see G Love once. When this album broke so it has a lot of sentimental value to me. Great record

Jul 04 2024

I really don't like his style. Too slow for hip-hop and each song is samey. I did enjoy some of the little loops in the songs but other than that, nothing in the musicality that I enjoy
