Hounds Of Love
Kate Bush
First 5 tracks are catchy pop tunes. Mother Stands For Comfort is a stand out.
On the second half it becomes a bit more experimental and standout tracks are Watching You Without Me and Hello earth, the latter includes amazing vocals from Kate Bush and beautiful Gregorian Chants as background vocals.

Sunday At The Village Vanguard
Bill Evans Trio
Smooth Jazz with very prominent bass. Last 2 tracks are my favourite. Definitely requires subsequent focused listens to really appreciate the detail in this album.

What's Going On
Marvin Gaye
Had always heard great things about this album. Love that it is only 35 minutes. All killer no filler. Sonically the music is smooth and groovy. This album is a great example of fantastic lyrics and instrumentation coming together to create a great work of art.
Absolutely love "Right On", the flutes on this song are amazing and it is easily the standout track on the album for me.
Going to have to give it some more relistens to form a better impression but after first listen I am really enjoying it.

Channel Orange
Frank Ocean
I have listened to this previously. There are so many great songs of this project.
Standouts for me are "Sweet Life", "Super Rich Kids", "Crack Rock", "Pyramids" and "Pink Matter".
I think "Crack Rock" is probably my favourite off the album. Great lyrics and beat to boot.
The lyrics are effortless and find a way to be relatable even if you have not experienced what Frank Ocean is talking about.

Imagine
John Lennon
While listening to this album I wasn't quite sure how I felt about it but by the end it had won me over. John's lyrics have always been a little hit or miss for me and the same goes for the lyrics on this album. Sonically this album is great, songs like "How Do You Sleep?" and "Oh Yoko!" are rich and ear catching.
Standout tracks are "Crippled Inside", "Oh My Love" and the previously mentioned tracks.
The album as a whole is deserving of some extra listens to really digest and form an opinion.

Led Zeppelin II
Led Zeppelin
Not a ton to say. Led Zeppelin II is a classic. With only 9 tracks there isn't a lot of filler (outside of "Moby Dick"). You can definitely feel more of the blues influence on this album than some of their others.
Badass guitar riffs permeate throughout the album, complimented by Robert Plant's vocals.
The only real weak aspect of the album for me would be the lyrics.
Standout tracks, "The Lemon Song", "Thank You", "What Is and What Should Never Be".

Paul's Boutique
Beastie Boys
Haven't heard much of the Beastie Boys before. It is easy to see how they influenced a lot of artists and groups that came after them. From the Rock/Hip-hop instrumentation, sampling or their flow patterns.
The instrumentation on this album is varied and unique. Lots of cool bass lines and strange instrumentation.
The lyrics are sometimes clever and sometimes dumb, but they are always performed with enthusiasm.
I think I would have enjoyed this album a bit more if it was a little shorter, but even in saying that there is a lot to like here.

Get Rich Or Die Tryin'
50 Cent
It's hard to understand the impact this album had when it first released. it was massive, and it's easy to see why.
50 Cent doesn't have too much to say on this album in terms of lyrical content. However, for what this album is supposed to be it absolutely nails it.
Beats that are tough and catchy, bombastic bars that are full of charisma and swagger. (not even to mention the amazing hooks)
For what this album is trying to achieve it is an easy 5 Star.

Songs Of Love And Hate
Leonard Cohen
This album is quite strange. I feel like I shouldn't like it nearly as much as I do. The songs are simple, and LC's singing is serviceable but is almost spoken word in its delivery.
The songs are incredibly sorrow and dense with allusions that mostly go over my head. Even still the songs still found a way to deeply connect with me and I am excited to revisit this album to understand some of the references it makes.
