The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Jan 11 2024

Was grooving at the beginning, felt like a strange mix between gorillaz, late career Beatles songs, and some noisy british punk. Can't say I loved listening to it but it was interesting

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe

ehh... 1 or 2 good songs but mostly just not my vibe. lots of weird ballady experimental things that just weren't good listening.

90s dance music feels about as dated as it is. Groovy but kind of silly at the same time -- feels like the granddaddy to the upbeat newgrounds techno i was listening to as a kid.

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Jan 16 2024

What is with the bugle thing in "The Glorious Land". I thought some other tab was making noise it was so discordant. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Felt like artsy fartsy music college music that would get the alt hippis to snap fingers and nod about how deep it is

Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals
Jan 18 2024

Fun listen, lots of good jams, good sound. Some hilarious lyrics in there on some songs. Some beatles-esque violin/orchestra parts & drum beats that felt almost intentionally a nod to them.

Feast of Wire by Calexico

Good stuff, enjoyed the latin american sound. I liked the instrumental tracks better than the ones with vocals though. Later half of the album was my favorite for that reason.

Already a fan of the Smiths - great album. Right up my alley, very similar to the Cure, chill melancholy sound with a sort of underwater/muted guitar tone & emo british guy vocals. I prefer the Cure but hey, memed rivalry aside, so far this is the best album in the list.
