1001 Albums Summary

Some good tracks: Wrapped Around Your Finger, King of Pain, Synchronicity II. Not as good as I remember it from years ago. Definitely a distinct signature sound.

Wow! An education in the Blues. I understand why this album has been arguably deemed the greatest Blues album of all time. Loved every track, even the last one that was a Bossa Nova. That was fun. Thanks BB and RIP!

Because Dylan was a little before my prime listening era, all I ever heard, back in my childhood, was the whiny voice, the confusing lyrics, and the fun harmonica. I can appreciate 'the whole' a bit more these days. I get it. He was more than a folk singer. He was one of the original anti-establishment icons, and should be appreciated for such. I've have always given him a 10 for lyrics, but the rest of the offering never hits better-than-average marks for me. My favorite track was 'Bob Dylan's 115th Dream' - very creative!

Tracks too long. i guess that goes with the genre. Cohesive subject matter. Arrangments just ok. I wanted to like it more. As the AB folks would say, "but it had a good beat"

Wow - I had never heard Joan before. What a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed every track, albeit the material was a little dark for my liking. Rich, complex, and smart instrumental construction complimented by thoughtful lyrics. Listed genres were folk rock and pop, but I heard tinges of funk, disco, and even country. At times Joan's deep voice reminded me of Tracy Chapman. My favorite tracks were Join the Boys, Save me, and Down to Zero. Shocked that she has put out 20 albums with one as recently as 2021 and she is not more in the mainstream with her talent and high quality arrangements.

Just not my thing. It was like nails on a chalkboard. I never liked his music, but never thought that I gave it a chance. This time I did and regret the hour out of my life. Yes, he's a great guitar player, but as for the completeness of a music offering, I just got nothing.

Life story laid before us. Great insights. Simple, but compelling.

Classic Beach Boys as we know them. An unmistakable sound that no other band has ever come close to matching. Themed lyrics, amazing harmonies, and solid sing-along melodies. Nothing to amaze, but solid fun.

Albeit with retaliatory and dark themes, the lyrics were very creative. Simple arrangements. Love the title track. Surprised to see Crosby and Nash on different tracks.

Really enjoyed that second half of this 19-track album. I heard some definite Tom Petty, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Rod Stewart in this music. I would want to hear more

Some interest in the instrumentals. Not overly impressed by the vocals. Felt very average for me.

Who doesn't love the Temptations sound? Although I always appreciate their history and everything they've brought, I didn't think this album was anything special or exciting.

Probably my favorite album of all time. The arrangements, production, and engineering, and quality are simply the best!!
