Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Feb 05 2024

Good liked the last song, kinda like a Can album but American Aoife: I like how it opens like a slow dance. The guitar is incredible, which isn't something I normally vibe with, but they did a good job of making it feel like it's boring holes through my brain. The vocals/lyrics are kinda just 70s funk, kinda generic. I prefer the instrumental tracks by a mile. Woah, the bells moving through your ear canals feels wild. The album art is brilliant, feels like it would still be cool today. The way it's lit really makes it stand out.

The Score by Fugees
Feb 06 2024

Very fun. Killing me softly is just genius. Felt a little like not being sure they'd have another album lined up that they had to use every good idea they had though?

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Feb 07 2024

Elliot Smith might suffer from being too influential to the soundscape, because listening to this album it doesn't particularly stand out. Still great sadboi vibes.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Feb 16 2024

Maybe this will slap more when I'm older

Guero by Beck
Feb 20 2024

Guero indeed. Maybe this slapped at the time but it sounds like a cringey mess to me. I generally like albums to feel thematic rather than "a collection of songs" which is what this was to me.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Feb 27 2024

you know something this was pretty good. Money for Nothing is a jam

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Feb 28 2024

Started decently then it stayed the exact same just kinda boring after three songs

Devotional Songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Feb 29 2024

Don't see myself listening to it on the fly but it's a nice sound

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Mar 01 2024

boring af. Black Sabbath was better.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Mar 04 2024

I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm your dad and I like some good Steely Dan.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Mar 05 2024

Just again really boring I'm not into classic rock

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Mar 13 2024

Not my favourite Paul Simon but the man is always palatable
