Boston
BostonVery jangly jangle pop guitar. Some nice harmonies. More Than a Feeling is an iconic song. Still nowhere near Steely Dan and Talking Heads but that's okay! Maybe if I listen more I will enjoy it more.

Edgy, angular punk with slight notes of blues and stream of consciousness lyrics. There was a sus chord guitar solo tremolo thing that captivated me on one of the songs but I don't remember which one. (Confessions I think?) That was probably my favourite. Gordon Gano sounds like he just woke up which is funny. You know what I'm gonna say. I still prefer Talking Heads, which I can see elements of the punk scene/stream of consciousness in but more polished and melodic. This band is meat pies and Talking Heads are nachos.
YEEEHAWWWW...I am slightly more impressed than Violent Femmes. It reminds me of Elvis at times. A little more country... Guess who made me appreciate country music. Talking Heads (which I still prefer) believe it or not. Some occasional nice ambience with the guitars here and there.
Some lovely ambient tunes going on here! Obviously Stereolab were influenced by this album. Not quite as etherreal as Mid-Air Thief but in the same vein. This is an epic album, not to be missed!
Fantastic jazz but the audience is too loud and the sound quality is not great because it's pre 70s.
I consider myself fairly high in openness when it comes to music, yet I couldn't get into this one let alone through it. It was just painful. Maybe I will try again some other day who knows. But If I want noise music, I'll just listen to MBV! That's some noise music with soul.
Playful selection of jazz standards! I enjoyed it more than the previous jazz album I was recommended, not because the music itself was better (It was just as good) but the audio recording quality. This album had pristine audio quality for its time. It just goes to show how mixing and audio quality can make or break an album. That said, I really enjoy Solange Borges Bom Dia Universo and Mus Mujiano's Yang Pertama album which are diamonds in the rough that suffer from unfortunate audio quality.
Outstanding music, not sure about the 'winning gold in the sex olympics' though.... Hilariously I just looked up who did the theme for the IT Crowd today because of someone commenting on an IT Crowd meme I did on the Talking Heads page that it sounded like Gary Numan. It was Neil Hammon, who participated in this album (including the 'sex olympics' song). HAHAHA
Oooh I really like this one! Vibey reverb guitars, nice jazz trumpet and FAT IKEA MAN SONG!!!
