1001 Albums Summary

Based on the first track, this band really reminds me of Talking Heads. The main difference is the production is more refined. I'm a big fan of Someone Great, what a sick track. All My Friends rocks, with the continuous piano chord raging in the background but doesn't get boring. There's some dull tracks, Us V Them and North American Scum were pretty bad. The closing song on the album is incredible. Blew me away. Overall, great album, I was surprised how disappointed I was when the album ended. The last song left me wanting more.

It was fine didn’t blow me away

As much as I hate to say it, this album is super overrated. The thing is I really wanted to love this album. I love the concept behind it. Meaning I love the album cover, band name, and the very simple drums, guitar, bass, and the honestly beautiful synth. Sadly, it just feels like standard rock and roll with no experimentation. Maybe when the album dropped it was vastly different than anything else but listening now feels like a chore. Every song (except "I'm in Touch with Your World") sounds like any basic pop rock and roll hit you'd hear on the radio. Again, conceptually I should adore this band, but the execution is not what I expected. Maybe I'm a dumb douche who doesn't know anything. Idk.

Pretty great album

The Arctic Monkeys struck gold with this one, probably the only album of theirs I actually go back to and appreciate every song.

Man, what a great album. Had a blast listening and have been going back recently.

A fun romp, after a while you understand the basic structure of each song and it gets tiring. But you can’t help but love em.

Heard it before it’s fun, their only good album.

I’ve heard this album before listening to it now, and it stays as a catchy and very accessible album. Just not the highest caliber album I’ve heard.
