1001 Albums Summary

I think for the time (1965) this release was pretty monumental. I have no hate for the blues, and he does great service to all the songs. But really a recording like this gets pretty stale really quick. There's only so many ways you can do the same 12 bar blues before it gets tedious.

This is about as good as it gets for 80's hair metal. That isn't saying a whole lot, but I'm not sure anyone did it better than Bon Jovi. Realistically that probably makes it a 3* album, but I'm rounding up to 4* for nostalgia. I could have done without the silly moaning female voices at the beginning of Social Disease, but what are you gonna do?...80's hair metal gonna be what it is.

Classic album. Nearly perfect.

Sound and Vision is a banger. Warszawa is beautiful. There are some other highlights throughout, but all the extended instrumentals don't really land for me. Kind of forgettable.

Enjoyable listen, but kind of boring. I guess there's a reason that certain things become cliche.
