Really great. Funnier than I expected.
Felt like it was a tiny bit too long, which meant it can start to blur in to one at points. But otherwise great.
Felt like I was being lectured from within a tiled room at times. Also, bass player is severely underrated. Around a 6.5/10, possibly a 6.3/10, on other days this could easily be a 5 or a 7.
I don’t know much about dance music, but I’m struggling to believe that this some of dance music’s best as opposed to just some of its most famous. Feels like a dance music recommendation from someone who doesn’t care all that much for dance music. I guess it was groovy and more or less enjoyable.

A bunch of self-absorbed dweebs, hellbent on making their mothers dislike their art, stumble upon both the Nuremberg transcripts and a second brain cell. They resolve to make a completely tasteless first track in the name of being edgy. I imagine adolescent boys and maladjusted art critics spend forever trying to justify it, but literally nobody wants to be at that conference. 2 stars as a result, which is a shame, because the music was occasionally enjoyable.
The DJ scratches have perhaps aged. Some vibes I guess.

Rumour has it this man came out of the womb at 50 years old with a Marlboro Red in one hand and a Bulleit Bourbon in the other. But then you listen to something like Saving All My Love for You and you realise he’s just a big softie really.
Some sound design choices that are maybe a bit quaint by today’s standards. Had to suspend some 2024 belief to get down with it. But get down with it I did.
Expected this to be so much more pretentious and insufferable than it was. Don’t judge a book by its 15 minute song, I guess.
The Spotify algorithm put on Beach House when this finished, which is basically the same except better.

Maybe a bit too on the nose with the Baudrillard-type stuff but these ideas inevitably age and given the context of its time this was probably pretty god damn righteous. I don’t know, I was still a sperm in 1992.
Don’t think I’ll be listening again though I’m sure I’ll hear Brass Pocket out in the world. Private Life is really not a very good song to put it lightly. A one drop? And what on god’s earth was that guitar solo doing there? Why are you shredding right now? So very Rigs of Dad. And what in the what are those lyrics? Was the producer on his lunch break? Offended me enough to bring the whole thing down.
Sick
I have heard this many times, but this time I noticed that Mr Cobain can be a little more emotional and sentimental than I had previously given credit for. A different perspective. Sometimes whiny though so 4 stars probably 4.5 if such a thing was allowed.
Sometimes a little funny, sometimes a bit nerdy. Very idiosyncratic either way, and some very cool arrangements at times. Respect, solid 3.5 that was.

Was ok I liked the double album vibe and some of those tracks took me back to childhood in the great US of A where HOT 99.5 conquered the airwaves but at the same time it was also 1hr18mins of somebody over-singing which on the wrong day feels like purgatory to me.
A fair few covers in there which I’d normally be inclined to get annoyed by but in this case it’s bonus points for that nice Sweet Jane cover. Album sets a mood and I feel like I’m there with them. Something like Cigarettes After Sex or similar definitely stole their flow and made it modern in that sense, kind of reminded me of that spatial, nocturnal mid/low tempo in the room with you type of production, I liked that about this album. Only difference is this was recorded in a church, that was recorded using a boss pedal (probably). Not actually sure which technique is sicker now that I type it out, but this is digressing. 4/5.
