xx by The xx

Decent Debut Album of Minimalist Pop

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Aug 27 2024

4.5 stars. A wonderful album. Both sides.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Aug 28 2024

The name Tracy Chapman makes you think of a certain voice… a certain sound. This album is why. 4.5 out of 5

At Budokan by Cheap Trick
Aug 29 2024

Sounds like it was taped on a cassette recorder in the bass players back pocket. Terrible production/quality. I don’t usually like “live” albums & this is a great example of why they are pretty unlistenable.

Garbage by Garbage

The better of the Garbage catalogue.

Faust IV by Faust
Sep 05 2024

Interesting. I’ve never listen to this album before. I enjoyed the opening track. The sad skinhead reminded me of early WEEN. I can see where Faust was influential. I might have to listen to IV again to see if I enjoy it more, but on first listen it’s about a 2.5

Green by R.E.M.
Sep 09 2024

I bought this cassette around 1987. I would have to say, IMHO, that this is one of the best REM albums that has held up over time. Definitely includes a few hits, but a solid album overall. A great example of the band in their prime.

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Sep 13 2024

First Raitt album I bought. Sounds dated now, but a decent representation and decent songs.
