Exodus
Bob Marley & The Wailers
"Waiting in Vain" reminded me of "Ghost Town" by The Specials and I'd rather listen to that. I think for this album to really shine for me, it'll take a more concerted listening to the lyrics and political writings of it all, as opposed to just getting into reggae. I'll probably never pick it out again but if someone spun it, you wouldn't hear any complaints from me.

Can't Buy A Thrill
Steely Dan
I think I'd be more interested if I hadn't heard the hits off this album a ton in middle/high school. It's a pretty eclectic group of sounds that make up this album, but none of them are really for me. But they're also non-offensive tunes, so it's not that I dislike the album. I just don't give a shit.

Master Of Puppets
Metallica
Didn't really care for the first listen. I've only ever dabbled once a decade in metal and while there were things here and there that I liked, it was never enough of a package for me to care. Kinda same thing here, I don't really care for the technical guitar work at all, the overall sound is also not for me. But then I immediately replayed it and liked it a bit more. It's still not for me, but there was more that I picked up on and dug. I like the vocals (but it also makes me laugh listening to James Hetfield growl this shit out, knowing he sued Napster like a little bitch). I still don't care for technical guitar work and I'm fine letting Ramones be my hardest, fastest guitar strumming band, but this is another step along the way of me saying "Nah, there's something to metal that I really wish I dug more. In a different life, I'm a metal boy."

Went in prepared to hate it because I've loooooong been a Genesis and associated acts hater. Liked it a lot more than I thought I would but still not super into it. It's another case of "I kinda like the sounds but I sure like the implementation of it all when done by this other guy". In this case, after I spun this album twice, I listened to some Pete Townsend solo stuff

I'm not totally sure why this album is on the list so I'm gonna buy the book and read up. I'd guess it's another turn in punk using poppy melodies but you got Dookie coming out the same year. Not a bad album though, it's very fine and the frontman does have a distinct style that's welcome.

Incredible. Very fun album from every perspective imo. Has a nice range of influences on the production that keeps me interested and the wide array of features also hit the mark. Also, somewhat prescient timing for Bombs over Baghdad.

I swear to goodness, every album so far has been "Oh that's a genre/sound you don't really care for? Listen to one of the progenitor albums!" and it end up making me more open to the idea of exploring further. So it's been a cool exercise in growth but also, it'd be nice if at least one of these was something that really gripped me and flipped me upside down.

This website heard me talking shit on my last review. Hit me with this. Thank you, website. You answered my request. Banger album. Superstition is a massive hit, but "Maybe Your Baby" and "I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)" are for me. I definitely prefer the more funky stuff off this album as opposed to the softer ballads, but yeah. This album is it.

I remember trying this album back in the late 00's and not making it more than one and a half songs in because whew laddie, was noise not my scene. I've since grown into it and while this isn't quite my type of noise, I do think this is a good starting point to get into a harsher sound than I usually do with noise.

Ambient 1/Music For Airports
Brian Eno
I played a game of League and was very tilted. Then I put on this album. Tilt is no longer a word in my vocabulary. Such an incredibly peaceful album. There's not much to it, it's just a synthesizer and piano. Reading up on it, Eno wanted to make an album that diffused the stress felt in airports? Yeah, good job dude, you friggin nailed it.
