When going into this album, I did not know what to expect as I hadn't listened to very much stuff from the time period with the exception of The Beatles. The first track, 21st Century Schizoid Man, was a great introduction with its memorable but chaotic sound throughout. I talk to the wind was next, and it was my favourite song in the album all the way until the end, I love the calming nature of it in stark contrast to the first song. The third song, epitaph is quite similar to I talk to the wind, and really helps strengthen the middle of the album. Moonlight, however, was the low point of the album for me as I found it quite forgettable and its length did not help as I believe 12 minutes is too long for any song. However, the final song, the title track, did make up for it and is my favourite track on the album, I love just about everything about it from the instrumentals, vocals and the rhythm. Overall, I rate this album 8.5/10, as it was similar to what I've listened to before while different enough to offer something completely adrift from what I've previously encountered, while also having several incredible tracks that I will remember for years to come.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Aug 10 2024

This album was quite unique from anything I had listened to previously, I was a big fan of the instrumentals but not so much the vocals. My favourite songs were Combination of the Two and Ball and Chain.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Aug 11 2024

I liked this album a lot, I enjoyed the downcast tone that the album has along with its somewhat dark lyrics throughout. The vocals and instrumentals were both really good, and my favourite tracks included Seventeen Seconds, A Forest and In Your Home. However, some of the songs such as The Final Sound and A Reflection were a bit weak, and they were what ultimately prevented me from giving it 5 stars out of 5.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Aug 13 2024

This album feels like it was almost perfect for me, featuring some of my favourite genres, including Alternative Rock and Metal all in one, with some calming tracks which are quieter throughout to give your ears a bit of a rest. It is the first album I'll be giving 5 stars out of 5, because I truly enjoyed it from the moment I started listening it to the moment I finished it, being 2 hours long works in this double album's strength so well. I loved many of the tracks in this album, but my three favourites were Zero, X.Y.U and An Ode To No One.

Blur by Blur
Aug 14 2024

This album started off strong with Song 2 and Beetleburn but got a bit weaker from that point onwards, though I still enjoyed it and enjoyed the quiet rock sound that the album had throughout. My favourite tracks other than the two that I already mentioned are Chinese Bombs and Movin' On.

Back In Black by AC/DC
Aug 15 2024

Another hard rock/metal album, of course I'd like it, even if some people may call it overrated nowadays it still has that charm to it that makes me like every song. each song is simple both instrumentally and lyrically and yet it still works in all of the right ways, not quite a 10/10 though because it would have to be something truly special for me to give it 10/10. I admire how they were able to put together such a good album despite losing their lead singer only months prior, and there's generally a reason why this album is so legendary, even if it may grow old for some people.

California by American Music Club

Was pretty hard to find due to the fact that it's not on any streaming services but it was a pretty solid country album and I am appreciative of Mark Eitzel's meaningful lyricism throughout.

Music by Madonna

This isn't the genre I usually listen to or enjoy so I'm not rating it too highly but it was a generally enjoyable experience throughout.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Nov 05 2025

this album has the exact sound i would expect from a marvin gaye record of the 1970s, the title track is iconic and the rest of the album is also consistently enjoyable

Duck Rock by Malcolm McLaren
Nov 06 2025

this isn't at all what i expected this album to sound like but it's great, it's one of the most interesting albums i've ever listened to in terms of production and seemed to be really ahead of its time.
