At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters

fav tracks: Hoochie Coochie Man, Soon Forgotten, Goodbye Newport Blues Thoughts: My first time listening to Muddy Waters, and an introduction to music under the umbrella of American Blues. The performances are close to flawless, if not perfect. I really like the piano playing; some of the melodic runs played on the piano sound like something Hendrix would play on the guitar. I guess little stuff like that highlight the influence that early to mid 19th century blues has on rock. Would like to hear more from Muddy Waters and other contemporaries. Very Nice.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Aug 12 2024

fav tracks: Walk On, See the Sky About to Rain, Revolution Blues, On the Beach, Motion Pictures Thoughts: Very Nice Album! My favorite track on this album would have to be "On the Beach", although I very much enjoy the other tracks listed above. The tone of this album overall is dark and bluesy, with hints of psych-y mikey on more mellow tracks like "See the Sky About to Rain", which is driven by a wobbly bobbly guitar melody. This album is great, and I'm looking forward to eventually listening to the rest of Neil Young's discography.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Aug 15 2024

fav tracks: all of them until the song with "opera" in the name. Thoughts: I only managed to listen up to that track, but I will say that the songs are amazing. They sound very cheesy, in a good way. "Remember Tomorrow" deviates a bit from the other tracks in terms of vibe, but I consider it as my favorite track out of the album.
