Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Sep 16 2024

good ass opening song 100% heard parts of these songs before just not in full goes without saying but the instruments go hard lemon song instrumental break would 100% be used in a bar fight scene very obvious that there is a lot of inspiration from blues music LIVING! LOVING! SHES JUST A WOMAN will probs be stuck in my head moby dick: hell yeah

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Sep 17 2024

very interesting topic to start an album off with i rate the choice of making almost 5 minutes of your 7 minute song purely an instrumental found it kinda hard to enjoy some of the slower songs compared to the faster ones though (based on the spotify plays that seems to be a more popular opinion though) - but i enjoyed moonlight mile so maybe it was just the specific songs i didnt enjoy happened to be slow as a jojo's bizarre adventure fan I am disappointed

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Sep 18 2024

mannish boy is a VERY GOOD track to open off the album with. enjoying it extensively even though this type of genre isn't usually my go to - blues always has the best instrumentals though and they are really flexing this on bus driver huh i want to be loved short and sweet, was doing some stuff while listening and was vibing very hard spitting facts with 'the blues had a baby and they named it rock and roll' cause that is accurate but you dont need me to tell you that sadly i do think as the album went on it dropped off a bit, was going to be a comfortable 4 stars originally

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Sep 19 2024

i am skipping all these introductions this album is long enough i do not care if it is not the 'full experience'. i am not a jazz guy so lets see how this goes. my first impression is that I will genuinely have no clue how to rate this because obviously the instruments are very impressive but I can't remove my prejudices and biases away from it - the music is very good and if I was somewhere and this was playing in the background I would not be upset and would enjoy it but I am never going to go out of my way to try and listen to this or recommend it to anyone cause it simply is not my kind of music I would say that after a while it simply just becomes more of a background music, not that it is necessarily a bad thing I apologise Mr Ellington, in another life this could easy be a 5 star album but alas it cannot be for me personally

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Sep 20 2024

usually I have a lot to say on my opinions. this time I got nothing.

Sep 22 2024

the transition from Right Here Right Now to The Rockafeller Skank was very enjoyable for me I imagine this album would be 1000x better if I was on ketamine however I do not believe I could source that just for this one album

Strange Cargo III by William Orbit
Sep 23 2024

essentially just background music not inherently bad but I am not going out of my way to listen to this

Pretenders by Pretenders
Sep 24 2024

the vocals and the instrumentals dont feel like they match on the first two songs idk if it is a mixing issue not sure why but there always seems to be at least one thing that bugs me in 75% of the songs in this album

Sep 28 2024

I love it. having a three song medley of Tenement Funster, Flick of the Wrist and Lily Of The Valley for me at least is unheard of so I got kinda excited at hearing it they understood the assignment by letting THE Brian May do a guitar solo in basically every song I have heard many people in the past talk about how Queen is more of a 'singles' band as opposed to an album band, but I don't believe this should be categorised in that. weakest song probably She Makes Me (Stormtrooper in Stilettos) which seems to be reflected in the Spotify listens too but I still enjoyed it Freddie Mercury still imo the best voice of all time

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
