So much in here that became foundations, lyrics, samples, themes. And really good!

So many classics

Some innovative stuff here, but I don’t love the style

Such a 90s album. One fantastic song and a few decent ones.

One of those foundational albums that I want to like more, but this style of slow growly punk just isn’t my thing. I can see how it inspired a lot of subsequent stuff, though.

It’s alright, not great. Some creative rhythms but nothing that really lands for me. I think it’s a weird energy somewhere between emo and late 90s female singer-songwriters.

Great beats and rhythms, not as amazing as his follow-up You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby, with its clever vocal samples and mixed-up beats, but still quite good.

Second-best album from one of my favorite bands

Really good - creative rock with a heavy guitar beat backed by soft drums and piano

Quite eclectic, some vocal-driven, some heavy with sampling, some more like beat-centered dance music. And a mix of languages. Wild that this is one album.

Some really interesting songs here, but the album is just so dang slow overall. Repetitive, methodical. In a word, mostly boring.

Punk-ish Britpop, feels sort of sanitized and in an awkward phase of the music

Like a mix of southern rock and Gwar, with sound quality that just doesn't land for me. I find very little redeeming in this.

Like instrumental rock techno, each track slow and repetitive with variations on a theme. I can see why people might like this, but I find it boring.

It’s classic metal, and closer to rock than a lot of stuff, which makes it more accessible. I can appreciate it but not enjoy it.

As with many albums on here, I can see the appeal, but doesn't really do it for me. It's fine background music.

Side one is a 5, with three amazing funk tracks. Side two is a 3 for me; as with many of these albums, I can see why people would like it, but I find it meh.

Quirky, some songs poppy and synthy, some more like straight rock songs. It's up and down for me, but interesting.

A couple fantastic songs that were unavoidable for years, and are to me emblematic of how this style of music can convey feelings. But the rest feel kinda bland.

My second-favorite J5 album after Quality Control. Great rhythms and dynamic between the various members.
