Hot Fuss
The KillersGreat classic album - absolute winner in the clubs in the early 2000’s. Every tracks a winner until end of album /m- feels like it runs out of steam 3 tracks from the end.

I liked it. Good beats and production, had me bopping. The sex stuff is a bit gratuitous but the rappings great and got soul man!
Great, the classic tracks are the stand outs, but whole album delivers top punk. Not one to listen to daily but when you want that punk energy it’s an easy reach.
The Kinks are underrated. This album has none of the famous tracks and yet every track is strong and I suspect deeply influential to following bands, and modern indie rock. Outside of the 60’s this album wouldn’t feel out of place releasing since the turn of the millennium, timeless quality.
It’s ok. Its biggest sin is it’s kind of boring. Tracks all feel similar with an American rumbling marching rock feel. Like easy listening hard rock?
Some real killer, a bit too much filler to be truly great. A proper influential album that we can thank for some of the best garage rock subsequently. Album drags towards the end, reusing sone tricks and even some of the killer drags on (no fun should be half as long). I do love the chanting!
It’s good. Somehow never takes off into really good, lacking some level of excitemenr and emotional oomph. I’ve Been Dazard and Hero are proper good tracks. I don’t like the production, it feels low go and somehow sapping the energy of the songs, they also feel like they’re all 10bpm too slow?
I can’t figure out what this has to say. The intros are the best part then it reliable turns into an exercise in how fast palm muted power chords can be played and some decent bedroom guitar antics. Sometimes I get into it in a similar way I like electronic music, the rhythms and repetition but can’t find a meaningful connection to it in the end.
A proper Classic. Boogie blues that gets the foot tapping. Some proper guitar work and all soul, a repeat listen.
Och it’s alright isn’t it? The thing with highly polished and expensive pop releases is not expense spared on production. Some good production and tracks here and Christina can belt them. Worst ways for folks to get rich.
Lovely. There’s something charming about the innocence and authenticity of music from this era. And the sheer musicianship and craft of it. Good stuff.
Good, couple proper musically tracks like the album closer. Sometimes feels a little try hard, but that might just be cause there’s no singing.
The 90’s was full of optimistic music like this that’s hard to imagine existing now. Decent album, didn’t light me up but appreciated the tone and the production standards.
Fine - dark driving vibe. Never really makes anything happen though.
Beautiful :) it’s easy for me to completely miss music like this assuming it’s manufactured mainstream drivel. I’m wrong on this one - she’s authentic can write and sing. Beautiful and melancholic, uplifting and soothing - I like Lana.
The stones with some of their blues rock finest. Love the gospel blues vibes of the closer. Some of the classics, no one’s trying too hard and all the right things are happening. Better music from a better time.
I liked the production - notice I like a lot of Jack Antonoff production. Probably enjoy that more than anything else going on here. Overall just feels uninteresting pop. Hardly terrible but nothing memorable for me.
As good as I’ve heard for the genre, but it’s just not a genre I relate to. Some great musicianship and in turn some real musical tracks here, but still anchoring into the power chords and anger I don’t connect with. Soil was a highlight. M
There’s only one Leonard Cohen. Only one artist could make you want to say stuff like “is he the thinking man’s Bob Dylan”. Every song is a poem, and a good one at that. The music is authentic and intimate - and the mood is all Cohens all the time. Love it.
Heard the name and can see why. This must have been pretty innovative stuff when it was released. Very cool coming together of rock and early electronics, pretty hypnotic and driving in a progressive house kind of way, but with guitars. Unfortunately never rose to the occasion, didn’t hold my attention and ultimately was a bit boring - not enough energy.
I like this a lot. Great guitar work, free minds - this is the good stuff I was looking for when I was younger but missed this entirely - I knew of George Clinton and funkadelic but had no idea it was this. Maggot brain live which was released alongside this album on an EP is all time great material. Will be checking out a lot more of funkadelic!
Great album I enjoyed this a lot. Very warm, the craft and care of 60’s songwriting coming through. For 1966 this feels quite innovative - certainly up there with some of the Beatles studio work. Love the layers, they mean every second.
