The Doors by The Doors
Sep 26 2024

Fun album - Very enjoyable listen Solid 8/10 Unfortunately I'm a basic fellow, so Light My Fire was my favourite track (so good)

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Sep 27 2024

I'm all for structural and thematic continuity in an album but JESUS CHRIST can a dude get SOME variation pls? Or perhaps I was just not in the mood for reggae today.

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Sep 29 2024

3.5/5 No strong thoughts really - pleasant enough. Can appreciate how Fats was a gateway/harbinger for the transition from blues to rock and roll, but would I listen to this on my own? Unlikely.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Sep 30 2024

Can see how this would have been super influential and innovative for the time. Just sounds like a generic ringtone that's been auto-installed on your phone now.

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Oct 01 2024

Fun listen. An incredible vocal performance on an album that is tailor-made to show off her vocal chops. However, besides her performance I don't think the album was particularly novel or really pushes the R&B / soul envelope, even for its time. 7.5/10 if I could, but will round that off to a 4/5 here.

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Oct 02 2024

So good. So 80s. Immaculate production. Bop after bop. An easy 8.5 to 9/10

Oct 03 2024

Liked this more than I expected to. Very West Coast, very 90s hip hop and I thought that the production has surprisingly held up really well! Dragged a tad in the middle / towards the latter part of the album, but solid solid album. 7.5 / 10

Pump by Aerosmith
Oct 04 2024

Very nice album. Harder than the Aerosmith I'm used to but it somehow works very well? Also a very unusual mix between your average MTV themes and and your louder metal ethos, but somehow that worked for me as well! Solid 8.25 / 10.

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
Oct 05 2024

Genuinely phenomenal. The fact that this is a live album is ABSURD! Easy 9/10.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Oct 08 2024

Really enjoyed this. Almost entirely hits, despite being so diverse. A lot of the album still sounds super fresh. 8.25 / 10

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Oct 10 2024

Really liked this. She has a beautiful voice and the album is just really pretty. 8 / 10

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Oct 11 2024

Congrats on the creativity or whatever, but this is not for me lol

Oct 13 2024

Fantastic album - production is immaculate and so many epic tracks. Thought it did have a couple of skips, and thematically was a bit much for me at times though. 7.75 / 10

Songs The Lord Taught Us by The Cramps
Oct 14 2024

This album was released way too late for this sound to be even mildly original anymore. In general just mid, I thought. 5.5 / 10

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Oct 16 2024

All for live albums but not a fan of how much song time the announcer gets here lol broke the flow way too often. Nice jazz besides that though. 6.5 / 10

Who's Next by The Who
Oct 17 2024

One of the few albums on this catalogue that I'd already heard, and it just gets better with more listens. Absolutely adore it. The softer tracks slap as hard as the peppier ones do, and imo this is a 0-skip album. 9.25 / 10

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Oct 18 2024

Really enjoyed this. Couple of skips, perhaps, but the highs were incredible. 9 / 10

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Oct 23 2024

Mid in every conceivable way.
