1001 Albums Summary

Day 1 of the 1001 Albums challenge! I actually knew this artist from his song Cold Little Heart, which I love. This album was really good! I had a hard time just accepting it for whatever it brought. Instead I was waiting for that one banger of a song. But the cadence and arc of the songs throughout the album is awesome! Definitely one to keep in rotation.

Ridiculously intense. Most songs didn't have enough of a hook, and the verses were messy for me. There is definitely some great flowing across the album from loud and crazy to soft and quiet.

Great background album - it's classic James Brown. It must have been super fun live.

Overall good songs with exceptional ones mixed in. My only let down was how ever song sounds SO similar. I couldn't tell if I was still on my first play through or it had looped back to the beginning.

Pretty boring. I've always thought the Kinks were pretty dull for a 60's band but I was hoping this one would be different? Nope.

Good album, but very similar sound all the way through to the point that songs blended together.

This band is strange for me. They have a pretty cool sound but they very rarely do anytyhing with it! It must all be in the same key or something, because are their songs have the same feeling, but they just do basic soft guitar picking and harmonies. There's only one song I like and I think it's the only one to have drums.
