Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Sep 27 2024

1st Track Impression: Feels like this is about to be smooth and a bit funky (the afro is a hint too). Seems like a good-mood album. End of Album Impression: Good overall. Not really my style per-se but it's smooth, funky, and feel-good. 'Everyday People' feels a bit corny to me. Good message but feels like a kids' show jingle. Probably needs to be taken in context that this is a defining album, and the sound has since been refined and redone in other ways that make it feel redundant. Notable Tracks: Stand!, Sex Machine Rate: 3.5/5

War by U2
Sep 30 2024

1st Track Impression: Based on the art, and the tone of the first song, this album is going to focus on the cruelties/injustices of war and it's impact on civilians. Opening song is decent, but feels like it lacks teeth if that makes sense. Too smooth and easy listening for the difficult subject it's trying to approach. Though I suppose that makes it more likely to reach more people. Listening Summary: Smooth rock and roll. Feels pretty preachy at times if you're listening to the lyrics which isn't terribly surprising. But overall easy listening. Notable Tracks: New Year's Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, The Refugee 3/5

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Oct 02 2024

I wasn't a big fan. Didn't really like his voice, couldn't get into it much.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Oct 03 2024

Really nice album. Sad but beautiful

Truth by Jeff Beck
Oct 04 2024
Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Oct 07 2024

Good overall, some catchy stuff in there (obviously, Message in a Bottle). Some of it got a bit repetitive / forgettable for me. And didn't enjoy 'On Any Other Day' at all.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Oct 08 2024

Nice, bluesy. Really enjoyable album overall. 4/5

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Oct 09 2024

Catchy, rocks, good vocals. Thus far nothing to complain about, solid easy listening.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Oct 10 2024

I like this one a lot more than Blonde on Blonde. Tangled Up in Blue and Shelter from the Storm stood out to me.

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Oct 11 2024

Some smooth smooth bossa nova. Not especially memorable but makes great background music, relaxing coffee shop vibes.

Imagine by John Lennon
Oct 14 2024

Started pretty good but was ready for it to end by about halfway

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Oct 15 2024

OK album, didn't grab me but I didn't find it hard to listen to or especially bland.
