5/5: A classic
Not memorable to me. Maybe a little like shoegaze? Didn’t pay close enough attention
LCD Soundsystem brought back my hangover. 6/5
Idk pretty good. A lot of really plucky rat tat tat funk guitar lines. At times felt corny
Didn’t listen to enough but it seemed quite good. Maybe a little over-use of compound meter
Idk good. Surprisingly not great transitions between sonfs
Just grove and vibes with good texture, but some of it just rolls by
Somewhere between “Matt and Kim” and “The Arctic Monkeys”, but ultimately I didn’t find a lot to come back for, besides that one mega-famous track.
Some vivid stories but probably won’t come back to it
I enjoyed it
Broke the led out
At times I felt this should be a 6, but 2h 15m is a long time and not all moments hit the same high for me.
Starting to accept that some of my ratings are too high; this feels like a true 5 though
The name bothered me and I wasn’t in the mood for bowie
Sort of a mix of led Zepplin and the Beatles 3.5 / 5.0
I always thought this was a pretty good album. 3.5 if I could do half point increments
The sound is clearly ahead of its time, and the highs are great, but for whatever reason I was underwhelmed.
Just don’t love the sound of this genre
I like how Apple Music described this as “optimistic” and “post-outlaw Austin”. A more folksy Stevie Nicks. Pretty enjoyable but I’m trying to be more conservative with ratings now.
Familiar sounds but didn’t love it. It’s a little like Bowie at some parts. Reminded me of other sounds but couldn’t place it.
Idk it was pretty good. An easy listen if I were on the smoke
Good good
A new genre for me
Really liked it more than expected. A little like Shoegaze?
It insists upon itself
I didn’t realize the doors were so bluesy. Maybe this should have been obvious. Certain songs might as well have been Howling Wolf
“Come rain or shine” sounds like “Georgia on my mind”
Very familiar but I’m having trouble pinning the genre. Not unlike the single bulletproof by La Roux maybe?
A classic album, but at times it feels intentionally high-brow. Favorite songs: I zimbra (keyboard solo), Air, Heaven
