Elephant by The White Stripes

So many great ditties

Melodrama by Lorde

Really liked PURE HEROINE definitely a 4 for me while this seems like it's trying to be deeper and falling flat

Funeral by Arcade Fire

2.5 "Stadium Rock", perfectly adequate but not my go to.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Nov 07 2024

2 Very monotone, reminds me of musical numbers that set up or explain theme/plot

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Nov 16 2024

I get the blues progression, I feel like the lizard king is mediocre and only held in high regard because people were high. I'm not mad at it. Completely adequate album but I'm nor seeking it out.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Nov 17 2024

Fun time

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Nov 18 2024

Reminds me of being at my dad's house

Arular by M.I.A.

Dance/workout vibes. Have to be in the right mood

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Nov 22 2024

Listened while in Walmart trying not to panic. Liked the vibes

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Nov 23 2024

I feel like the Talking Heads have always tried to insert themselves in my life. I'm not mad about it

Nov 24 2024

No notes. One of my favorite albums. Every song tells me a wonderfully vivid little snapshot of life set to music I can jam out or dance to. Always welcome this band in my rotation.

Headquarters by The Monkees
Nov 25 2024

I was surprised that I liked this more than I thought I would. My preconceived notions and limited listening prior to this had me assuming they were a ridiculous "poppy" band but in reality they have a wider depth

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Nov 26 2024
Elephant by The White Stripes
Nov 27 2024

So many great ditties

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Nov 28 2024

Early emo-pop... it's what I'd expect from the genre and the time

Melodrama by Lorde
Nov 30 2024

Really liked PURE HEROINE definitely a 4 for me while this seems like it's trying to be deeper and falling flat

Sulk by The Associates

I think this should be listened to a few different times and in different moods. Absolutely serves a punk vibe and fuck you attitude towards music culture but set to an 80's electro-pop base

Ok so I've thought these thoughts from the beginning but I really think this should be a 10 rating system not 5 to better understand the music but alas, here we are so I'm going to break down MY system 3- obviously fine to listen to, usually popular, nothing wrong or jarring 4- I liked it and was intrigued, excited by possibilities, want to explore the artist, would listen again 5- I'm buying the album, will listen to many times or already have Now the bummer 2- I get it from a critics point of view, probably very easy to sample from or ground breaking or they thought was fucking genius. I listened, I heard, I'm good 1- I did it. That's it. I feel it's hard to give a 1 but that fucking Leonard Cohen Album the day after elections made a 1 a possibility and now my personal standard
