feel like i’ve listened to so much music inspired by mayfield that actually listeneing to him sounds a little dull unfortunately….one of the stranger problems of music. still smooth though
overarching theme here is that there’s a magic lost here from their first three albums (prob has a lot to do w/ the death of cliff burton). One is really the only song worth listening to, maaaybe Blackened and Dyers Eve if you’re up for it, but the rest is very meh. pretty much every song is longer than it needs to be. also, i can understand the reluctance to hear bass after burton’s death but making a rock/metal album with that instrument basically missing in the mix is crazy. after listening to this i get why they thought they needed Bob Rock to save them. shoutout weird ass wizard of oz chant

not the greatest album of all time but its chill vibes. there will always be a bathroom on the right. fun fact: i actually got stuck in lodi on a field trip with my junior high orchestra.
