1001 Albums Summary

Meh. The front half feels like the songs are all half baked or ended because a producer said "that's enough," the back half feels like "generic" rock. Sonically I get it, but the lyrically/vocally he just doesn't capture me. Breakdown is the best song on here, and I actually like it less in its album context cause it highlights the fact that its actually a half written song. Actually, the only fully formed song is "American Girl," and good thing they saved it for last. 3/5

I like this album, but a lot of the songs kind of fail to grab me. Back Half is better than the front.

Good 60s pop. Nothing super grabbed me throughout it though

Surprising. Definitely more prog and “weirder” influenced than I knew Queen could get. None of the lyrics really caught me though, I’m glad they kind of went in a more accessible direction down the line.

Will review more later
