Janelle MonáeAndi from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery?? I’ve never heard of this album but what a strong start to this project. Psychedelic space funk. Also, I totally forgot about Of Montreal, what a throwback.

+1 star for Personal Jesus/Enjoy the Silence. Otherwise just ok
Turns out LZ had a lil twang era. I shouldn’t be surprised by their blues & folk influence yet here I am. Also, love that rock & roll piano in “Boogie with Stu”
Willie or won’t he release something that is not BORING
This album pairs exceptionally well with my morning caffeine buzz. Jam after jam it’s such a blast
I was anticipating Nirvana’s 2nd album Nevermind making this list, and maybe it did, I’ve never listened to In Utero all the way through. What a vibe shift. The production quality feels cleaner, I’d argue this is more hard rock than grunge but not in a “gone mainstream” sense. Really enjoyable listen.
Very nostalgic album for me. Early KoL was a major component of my intro to alt rock. I recall enjoying their next two albums more than this one, but given this is the OG record it deserves extra credit.
“City, Country, City” was definitely my favorite track. Jazz & funk doing their thing, idk if I’m always in a jam band mood though.
I love dad jokes but apparently I don’t love dad rock. This album feels pretty cheesy to me. I won’t deny “Born to Run” is a great hit, so +1 star for that.
If you had told me this was early LCD Soundsystem I would’ve believed you. This album inspires me that anyone can be the frontman of a band, they don’t even have to know how to sing. Favorite track: “Decades”
Some days I listen to a Spotify curated playlist called “Jazz in the Background” when reading/working. I couldn’t tell you the difference between that experience and this one. I appreciate and enjoy the genre at the highest possible level.
Anyway, where’s “Wonderwall”?? Liam Gallagher always sounds like he’s whining. This album is fine, but I can’t unhear that.
A nice wholesome feel grooving throughout this album. I really dig this happy, funky soul sound.
Early 2000s indie rock gets +1 star. Solid album, didn’t blow me away with its greatness but in my old school Pandora radio days I wouldn’t have skipped any songs on this album.
Tbh I went into this album ready to be a hater. I enjoyed it more than I was expecting to, especially the track “I Found Out”
The title track “Moondance” was a good choice, great jam. Other than that the album was fine.
This was a very weird and experimental record. Some days I’d probably argue this is too obscure for me but it must have arrived on a good day. I definitely appreciate the psychedelic & futuristic feel of some of these tracks. Others were just bad/noisy. “Revolution” really caught me off guard with its garage rock style, followed by the very mellow “So Hot” and “Lord Can You Hear Me” it almost seems like multiple bands are on here.
That was one saxy Pink Floyd record. This album starts out really strong, the middle is pretty boring, then ends on a somewhat interesting note.
At the beginning of this album I was convinced I had started a Scorsese movie. Really great record. Love the bluesy rock sound.
I think I’m most impressed by the quality of this live album from the ‘60s. This was a lot of fun to listen to.
Thank you Guitar Hero for introducing me to FF. I liked this album then and I like this album now.
First play through I thought it was bleh, then I listened to it while driving around and it was way better? They have more of a heavy metal sound than I was expecting.
Two Stones albums in a week really put a damper on my perspective here. Maybe I’m bored of them or maybe I just liked last week’s album more.
Is 2.5 stars an option? This is an extremely average indie rock album. Definitely not bad, just not exciting. I’m a little surprised I’ve never heard of this band before given the genre and when it as released. “Grounds for Divorce” is good and I swear had to have been used in a commercial but I can’t seem to remember which.
I think angsty teenage torpedo would’ve loved this album. 31yo torpedo just get stressed out listening to this. Great production quality & percussion though.
This wasn’t that great. I feel like my review from yesterday holds true. Maybe teenage Torpedo would have been a bigger fan of this, but I just thought it was annoying.
This album warmed me up over the snowy weekend. Favorite track: “Murmullo”
