Michael Jackson
Made for the CLUB. every song is 90s too long. Seinfeld bass and a percussion track that sounds like an 8ft 2x4 falling on a concrete floor. 3.41

Vocal forward, always love the harmonies and trippy reverb guitar. I used to have this on vinyl in high school, so it’s been a while since my last listen through. Each song just bounces along, marching and smelling the roses along the way. A few songs with more eastern influences, and then a random Maxwell’s silver hammer bell appears and you are brought back to the west.
Good Morning Good Morning guitar solo rips. 3.65/5

Holy drums right off the bat. Then guitar. Vocals last with bass. But they’re all so good!
Acoustic guitar use in Babe is amazing. The rhythm from it is almost classical to me.
AN ORGAN?!?! A HARMONICA?!?! Holy shit. Bluesy.
Enjoyed this way more than I thought I would! Definitely a blind spot in my music knowledge because this kind of rock and roll was satan worship music lol. 3.61/5

Home Is Where The Music Is
Hugh Masekela
See me scrunching my face immediately at the audacity of the keys and horns to start off because I LOVE IT. OH SHIT THIS IS JAZZ. I think? It has moments of congrats-you-just-won-mario-kart or college-gameday. Guessing this was inspirational for most conductors of people with a trumpet or other horn in the band.
bassist was not paying attention on Maseru and that is my expert opinion.
OKOK this album is NEARLY perfect. But I couldn't get on board with the Ingot Pow Wow - I am uncultured swine. 4.25, harsh but dems the rulez. I want to give this a 4.5 but I think Unhome is just "meh" because that bass line is like what I play on the low e string when I'm bored and waiting for someone to stop talking. EDDIE GOMEZ THIS IS ON YOU. Otherwise 4.5/5 nearly perfect album.

I’m the perfect amount of high.
Bi-rite sammy hitting hard.
I think I’m two songs in and I have pro-shot of one of their performances on tv, muted, and the AirPods play the album. Turn on Spatial Audio and center it on the tv. Honestly doesn’t matter that the song I’m hearing is not what’s on tv.
I guess that’s the … lost my train of thought.
Oh I meant to say that I recommend that while listening to this, you get so high you think that you’re seeing is what you’re hearing can transcend time and connect the present with the past.
I hear the jazz influences on this rock (?) band! Even how the keyboard can sound like a horns section. Blues!
They look like hippie early garage startup individual contributors that met in music school 30 years ago and decided to reconnect in their midlife and do hallucinogenic drugs and try to play instruments like the good old days. Maybe that’s just Jerry Garcia.
Man if I move my head with Spatial Audio, it’s like right in front of me. My legs and arms are all tingly.
If this just The first song, I’m screwed. Oh ok thank god it’s the 4th song. Turn on your love life, singing is very southern rock.
I bought crunchy snacks because that’s what usually love but now I want something sweet!
Mercy song. Found chocolate cereal and creamy peanut butter. I keep feeling the jazz and blues in this. But then there will be like a very classic guitar riff that pulls you back into this tumultuous genre bending song. One and a half eternities left in Death Mercy song.
I have these chickpea snacks. Not hitting. Need way more flavor, Biena. Bbq like turns bitter. Ho shit there were flames on stage.
I got cold and put two jackets on because I don’t trust myself to light a pilot light right now.
Oh now I’m getting dizzy looking at my phone with this feedback track. Oh I might throw up if I keep looking at my phone. Looking at TV for a bit. Need candy. Found frozen fruit. A fave.
Jerry isn’t wearing shoes.
Awwwww this little lullaby is so cute and good! Railroad song and Beatles. AWW THAT’S IT?!? I want like TEN MORE MINUTES OF THIS LULLABY!

Besides the hits, forgettable. Like a dad band version of oasis. Maybe walked so coldplay could run? Run far away. 2.5/5. Caught by the River is fun.

Tough to rate with the usual metrics due to skit tracks. I like a lot of this but it’s not my favorite Kanye. Slow Jamz was a fun throwback. This album had some BOPS! Family Business is my fave though. I was gonna say 3 stars but we upgrade to 3.77 on vibes alone. It’s GOOD.

american dream
LCD Soundsystem
OK you can’t listen to this without a drink in your hand and your hips whipping up a full on hurricane. I’ve got a 2017 cuveé and I’m making a nassty batch of Rochester Hot Sauce for the Buffalo Bills game. Trying to see if this wine has gone bad before I dump it in the sauce. Jury is still out.
How do you sleep, tonite, and call the police is a strong 3 song stretch. Woah and American dream too? Let’s see.
Lcd soundsystem is like watching a movie with subtitles that are a different storyline. Sometimes you can tune into the vocals and go one direction, then you can tune into everything else and go somewhere entirely elsewhere. Can be distracting in moments but I like it overall.
Woah emotional haircut drums!
This is def a no-nope album. Unreal. So good. 4.5/5.

David Bowie
I cannot express my complete confusion at why David Bowie is idolized after only listening to this album. Fans may be tone deaf, wish they could hold a note, or like the aesthetic of a drunk old dude at a karaoke bar mumbling through some psych rock instrumental track with paint on his face. I think the only tracks I could endure were instrumental. Many nopes. Vibes say 1 star but it’s probably 1.4

I like this a lot more than the rating would suggest. Reminds me how inflated vibe reviews are. Really excited to check out more of their music, learn about it! Very subdued, but beautiful and not overdone. Candy says or After Hours for me. Sadly a stretch of forgettable songs in the middle but enough gold to be a 4 star! 3.5/5

Paul Simon
I like Paul Simon. This record has some great kinda African inspiration and it’s whimsical. Still wish people didn’t use the harsh static/explosion percussion sound rampant in Michael Jackson’s Bad. But this album is a lot of meh but happy. Lost track of my ratings so we’re gonna go with 3.4? I dunno. It’s funny.
