The Wall
Pink Floyd
🌟🌟🌟🌟— (4 out of 5 stars)
Quite cinematic; Ordered Quite well, i like how the flow between songs went, however there’s a lot of filler to get through just to get to the more iconic songs (The first disc was really whack imo, second disk leveled out a bit more)
The ending is quite nice, sounds like I just got transported into a musical.
There’s a story behind this album: But I wasn’t really invested in it cos I wasn’t listening to it hard enough (oopsie)
Fav Songs: Hey You, Comfortably Numb, Brick in the Wall (Pt. 1)/Happiest Days/Pt. 2
Least fav: In the Flesh?

🌟🌟🌟🌟— 4[.2] of 5 stars:
If there was ever an album that could capture the feeling of nostalgia, it would be this one, especially on its hits.
It’s wonderfully artistic, with incredible instrumentation, and each track feels like it has its own unique soundscape, whether it be the synthesizers on “Time To Pretend,” the driving bassline on “Electric Feel,” or the playful samples and drums on “Kids,” each seems to transport me to a different world, all culminating into a singular nostalgic journey, with unexpected twists throughout, that kept me hooked in.
👍: Of Moons Birds & Monsters⭐️, Electric Feel, Time to Pretend, Future Reflections, Kids
👎: Pieces of What
⭐️ = favourite (for future reference)

The Stone Roses
⭐⭐⭐⭐– 4[.3] of 5 stars
I had already loved "Made Of Stone" before listening to this album in full, and was hoping that the full album would be just as good, and man, THIS DID NEOT DISAPPOINT (i also ended up listening to it twice lol). I absolutely love all the guitar work and use of instruments on this album (i might even go ahead and learn some of these songs). Just powerful and good-feeling songs from start to finish, 12 bangers back to back (except for maybe BBBM, that one didn't rly do much for me tbh), amazing melodies, what more can I say?
Not to mention, the influence this album this album has had, basically allowing brit pop to exist in bands such as Oasis and Blur and (even early Radiohead!) just makes this already good album that much better.
ALSO HOLY SHITE THOSE LAST TWO 8+ MINUTE SONGS WERE F-ING AMAZING (definitely two favs right there!).
Favourites: Made of Stone, I Am the Resurrection⭐, Fools Gold, Waterfall/Don't Stop, This Is The One.
Dislikes: Bye Bye Bad Man

Let's Get It On
Marvin Gaye
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️— 4[.4] of 5 stars
THIS THING GROOVAY. In all seriousness, this thing is an amazing collection of 8 solid, chill, relaxing tracks. Love the horns and funky guitars on this, and his insanely smooth and soulful vocals, along with his amazing songwriting just puts the icing on the cake.
From those iconic first 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 😜 notes at the beginning of the title track to the delicate strings and vocals at the end, this album offers a level of “feel” and in-the-zone-ness (is that a word??) that I honestly really enjoyed. I also loved a lot of the more subdued, emotional parts of this album (for example, IISDT and Distant Lover).
Favourites: If I should Die Tonight⭐️, Let’s get it on (iconic), Distant Lover.
Dislikes: You Sure Love to Ball (NEOT a fan of those “sound effects” at the beginning)

⭐️⭐️— — — 2[.4] of 5 stars.
It has some iconic tracks on it, but the rest of the album starts to feel rather same-y as you listen.
Love the guitar on the first track, and on “Breaking The Law,” but nothing else really stood out for me.
Favourites: Rapid Fire⭐️, Breaking The Law.

Sound of Silver
LCD Soundsystem
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4[.7] of 5 stars
This entire album is a vibe, and it’s probably gonna be one of my new favourite electronic albums. From the first track, this album really captivated me. The mixture of indie rock and electronic music styles created something almost irresistibly groovy, while also having some incredible guitar hooks and vocal work. The mixing of electronic and analog instruments really intrigued me throughout the whole album. This entire thing sounds like The Strokes mixed with Daft Punk and a bit of new wave mixed in there.
I loved the vocal lines, guitar hooks, and feel of “All My Friends,” the cool electronic bits of the first track, and the intensity of the closer.
Favourites: Get Innocuous!, All My Friends⭐️, Watch The Tapes, Sound of Silver, “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down.”
Dislikes: Us v. Them

The Gilded Palace Of Sin
The Flying Burrito Brothers
⭐⭐⭐ — — 2[.7] of 5 stars.
A pretty standard run-of-the-mill folk/country. I can see the bands that drew influences from this album, mainly the Eagles. But in my opinion, this album really didn't do all that much for me. The guitar work and instruments seem pretty interesting at some points, but, there isn't a lot of variation from track to track. The guitar on that first track was DEFINITELY on cigarettes, though. Loved the feel on "Hot Burrito No. 1," and the story along with the organ/piano duo on "Hippie Boy," but other than that, the rest of the album just felt the same. Influential? maybe, but, just not something I'd want to give a re-listen.
Favourites: Sin City, Hot Burrito No. 1⭐ (goofy ahh name), Hippie Boy.
Dislikes: Christine's Tune.

⭐⭐⭐⭐– 3[.9] of 5 stars.
I'm gonna be honest, this thing gives 90's frat party so much. Like seriously. The beats are really goofy and weird, but in a good way. I honestly enjoyed listening to this album, and will probably listen again. Also, I really love their vocal style - it's absolutely iconic. Overall, a really fun-to-listen-to, slightly goofy hip hop album.
Favourites: Looking down the barrel of a gun⭐, What comes around, Shake your rump, The sounds of science, The B-Boy bouillabaisse collection.
Dislikes: High plains drifter, Hey ladies.

Colour By Numbers
Culture Club
⭐⭐⭐— — 2[.7] of 5 stars.
Besides being the "one (or 'two hit' - sorry luca) hit wonder" band, I somewhat enjoyed the rest of the album and loved the mix of classic 80s synth sounds and band instruments (shoutout mr. saxophone guy!!), and the basslines & drum grooves on some of the tracks were FONKY AF. However, after the first few tracks, it quickly got a little repetitive instrumentally and vocally (especially with the lyrics), seems like they're kind of a one-trick-pony. But overall, it's a pretty non-demanding, consistent, relaxing 80s pop/rock listen.
The opener's iconic, but, besides that I also liked the slower feels of "Black Money," "That's the Way," and the closer, and the saxophone (and horn/trumpet??) solos throughout a lot of the tracks were pretty cool, and the instrumental break on "Miss Me Blind" was cool af.
Favourites: Karma Chameleon⭐(basic pick but whatev), Black Money, Miss Me Blind, Mister Man, Victims.
Dislikes: Changing Every Day (despite the name it's prolly the most un-changing on the album lol).

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
⭐⭐⭐— — 3[.5] of 5 stars.
It's a classic slow-burning folksy-bluesy-rocky album. In my opinion, a really solid casual listen. The guitar work on a lot of these songs is great (especially that 9 minute track), and the strings set up a really folksy, but emotional feel, especially on "Running Dry," not to mention his soulful voice. Yes, some of the tracks can run a little long, but when it picks up, it picks up. Love the energy on the opening track as well as "Cowgirl in the Sand." Overall, it's not bad, definitely influenced quite a bit of modern bands. I'm a bit on the fence between a 3 and a 4.
Favourites: Cowgirl in the Sand⭐, Down By The River, The losing end.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse
⭐⭐ – – – 1[.8] of 5 stars.
It's okay. A lot of the same guitar work all the way through, with not a lot of variation. It just didn’t do much for me. Plus it's the second Neil Young I've gotten in a row. I saw a review that said "If you're not really a fan of Neil Young before, you probably won't enjoy this one," and I feel that's the case for me.

Vol. 4
Black Sabbath
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️ 4[.6] of 5 stars.
One of Black Sabbath's best. The riffs on this thing are insane. They're captivating, and most importantly, heavy (at least for the time!). They also add a lot of variation with some acoustic tracks and (experimental?) effects-based songs. And ofc, how could I not mention Ozzy's iconic voice? This whole album is amazing and works together so well. It's no "Paranoid," but it's definitely up there imo. An inspiration for many a metal band to come.
Love the guitar work throughout the whole thing, Sabbath's signature gritty guitar sound shines thru the whole thing, and like I mentioned before, the acoustic ones are a nice break-up from them (even tho they still go rly hard). The effects experimentation on "FX" is really interesting to listen to, and the riffs on "Under the Sun / Every Day Comes and Goes" and "Supernaut" are incredible, and "Changes" is just an amazing song overall, instrumentally and vocally - it's iconic.
Favourites: "Under the Sun / Every Day Comes and Goes"⭐, Changes⭐, Supernaut, FX.
Dislikes: none :P

Eli And The Thirteenth Confession
Laura Nyro
⭐⭐⭐⭐ — 4[.2] stars of 5.
Really enjoyed the sounds on this album. It's really oldie, but in absolutely the best way possible. Love her voice, it's so soulful. This was a morning listen for me, so I was a little bit too tired to pick out the individual tracks, but it was better than anything I expected. Love the jazz influences. Perfect album to get my day started to. But overall, it's amazing, it just feels ... good, like overall positive vibes from this, and they slow it down when they need to ("December's Boudoir"). Great album.
Favourites: Luckie, December's Boudoir, Timer, The Confession⭐.
Dislikes: none again!
