Blonde On Blonde
Bob Dylan
Generally not a fan of the type of blues-rock-country style of music that's predominant on this record. I found the overt use of the harmonica quite hard to listen to and Dylan's voice took some getting used to. Once I got past the first 3-4 songs I could appreciate the album a bit more.
The vivid storytelling and wordplay on 'Stuck Inside of Mobile...' stuck out the most to me throughout the album. In general the lyrics I picked up on while listening seemed like the most interesting part of the record, although I have to admit I didn't spend too much time properly reading them.
I know this is supposedly one of the greatest albums of all time, it just doesn't seem to catch me.

James Brown Live At The Apollo
James Brown
As good as a live album gets - clean and raw at the same time. The band sounds great, so does Brown's voice. I like the fact that the album is short, it gets more of the energy across. None of the songs stood out much on their own, but as a whole the album is a cool listen, although I did find the crowd's screaming off-putting at times.
All musicality and cultural impact aside - JB was an abusive scumbag and that fact is pretty hard to ignore...

R.E.M.
This didn't do much for me. The songs are by no means bad at all, but just felt bland. Sitting Still was the only one that stood out a bit. All in all inoffensive background music.

The Velvet Underground & Nico
The Velvet Underground
I can see how this is as influential as it is, very unconventional for the time for sure. It's mostly the overall sound and experimental instrumentation that drew me in, Nico's vocals on Femme Fatal (probably my favorite song) stood out as well. Lyrics describing Heroin trips aren't my cup of tea at all, but I guess it was 'edgy' at the time...
I don't think the album is nearly as good as it's generally rated, but it definitely was an interesting listen. It's one of those culturally significant records I've never checked out before, so I'm glad I finally did, although I'm not sure I'll feel the need to revisit it again.

Station To Station
David Bowie
My first time actually listening to a Bowie record in full. Most of these songs felt too long and kinda lost me at the halfway point, although the intros had caught me beforehand. It was also too theatrical at times for my taste.
That being said - I could still appreciate it for what it was. The album is well put together and went out with the best two songs in my opinion. 'Stay' and 'Wild With The Wind' I really enjoyed and went back to after listening to the whole thing through.
Not sure if I'll ever fully get into it, though.

Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music
Ray Charles
I never thought there's a way for me to enjoy country songs as much as I did here. Ray literally put soul in these songs.
Ray's voice sounds so good, the whole band does too. The overall production on this is great.
Some of the songs do sound a bit dated, so do some of the choral vocals. That's the reason it's getting 4 out of 5.
But all in all this is a great record and a very enjoyable listen.

Lou Reed
I don't think I'll ever really get into Lou Reed... There's nothing I can 'objectively' say against the quality of these songs, they just don't strike a chord with me. I do appreciate the inclusiveness of some of these lyrics, especially given the time of release.
I'm glad Tribe got a great sample out of Wild Side, but that's about it for me.

Paranoid
Black Sabbath
This album is pretty much flawless - great musicianship, lyrics on point, clean but organic production and amazing songwriting. These songs are timeless and sound as fresh as ever. Sabbath just sound effortlessly cool on this one. This isn't my personal favorite of theirs but there's undeniable hits on this album and I can't find a reason not to label this record perfect, front to back.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Not my kind of rock music, but still enjoyable. The hits on this are hits for a reason, but there's a lot of songs on there that didn't particularly stand out. The musicianship and overall sound was great. I appreciated the length of the songs, they were to the point and not unnecessarily drawn out, which I feel is rather rare in this genre.
All in all an unexpectedly pleasant listen, nothing that got me too excited but still decent. The singles were definitely the highlights.

Licensed To Ill
Beastie Boys
It's impossible for me to even try to have an 'objective' view on this one - this album crucially shaped my taste in music as a kid. It stands as one of my favorite albums of all time.
The sampling and the dynamic between the three emcees sounds timelessly fresh. The beasties made rhyming 101 sound exciting on these songs. I'll admit that some of the lyrical content is a bit immature, but they owned up to that by apologizing for problematic lyrics.
I always love revisiting Licensed, it sounds exciting and just super cool every single time. The quality of their output kept elevating after this album, this is a near perfect debut LP though.

Beck
I enjoyed this way more than I would've expected! The songs had a familiar feel to them, although Lost Cause was the only one I actually knew before listening to the whole album. It's the gloomy soundscapes that really caught me, the musical arrangements are great! The production in general is really, really good.
Considering the lyrical content and the overall mood of the album it felt a little bit long at times and I don't know if the songs would work too well on their own, taken out of the context of the album.
All in all this was a great listen though and I'll most likely go back to it.

Pixies
I (shamefully) have to admit that before listening to this, I only knew a handful of singles by the Pixies... that being said - there was not a single moment that was even slightly boring on this album. I felt it was flawless after the first spin already and made me want to listen to it again right away. All killer, no filler.

Songs For Swingin' Lovers!
Frank Sinatra
Nothing to hate about this at all.
The musicians on this record sound great, Frank's voice is the definition of smooth and the songs just flow very well all-round.
I'm not a fan of the opener, but that might be because it's been played to death.
I knew a few of the songs already before listening to the album as a whole (for the first time) and was afraid it might just sound old to me and I won't be able to get into it much, but I gotta say I really enjoyed it!

Not bad per se but did absolutely nothing for me. The only thing that stood out to me was the bass sound at times.

Hot Chip
I was expecting to not like this at all but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a enjoyable listen, a 'electronic music for people who don't like electronic music' sorta thing. I liked the dynamics and layers of sounds, I can totally see how people would be into this. Not sure if I'll ever revisit any of these songs but it's a solid album for sure.

Bongo Rock
Incredible Bongo Band
This started off strong with the first two tracks, then fizzled out quite a bit after that throughout the middle part and then picked it back up towards the end (for context - I listened to the original version of the album, not the extended one on Spotify). In general I'm not mad at this at all, it's entertaining enough, but without Apache and In A Gadda Da Vida (both of these are bangers) this would probably be sub-mid, I'd say. Also I gotta admit, just knowing the samples that came from this record added some extra points for me.
