Feels like the instrumentals often overpower the vocals, it appears "hide in your shell" was the (finger quotes) emotional song on the album but the lyrics still take a backseat. Dreamer sounds like the Supertramp I am familiar with, with the keyboard and vocals, which makes sense as this was 3 full albums before breakfast in america. Everything i read about this album talks about how great it is at talking about "young adult confusion" and while the production is good and the use of sax/piano/keyboard is really cool, the "message" is kind of lost in translation for me. Idk, maybe it's something that was more "emotional" back then when people didn't talk about their feelings as much, the lyrics i've read aren't bad just not as like "deep" as i expected. Overall, would I listen again? I do not think so, if i had to replay a song i'd pick school or dreamer, overall, i'd rate it 6.5/10.
