Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Mar 30 2025

I really like how poetic it is. It's obviously about the lyrics and not about being super technical (except for the crazy harmonica solos). The rhyme schemes are clever are flow really well. The songs do seem to blend together but not in a bad way. The album has a root beer dream like quality to it. I have no idea what Ballad of a Thin Man is about but it would make a crazy music video.

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Mar 31 2025

I understand why this album is important for me to hear, and overall I don't regret listening to it, but it is not my taste. I like the opening guitar solo and the rest of the songs were fine. It kinda dragged for me despite being a shorter album. Last song had like farting and cow mooing. Not sure what that was all about. Overall I understand why people like it but Maggot Brain is just not for me.

All Directions by The Temptations
Apr 01 2025

Overall just great grooves. Solid throughout and never had me wanting to stop. Papa was a rolling stone is the highlight here.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Apr 02 2025

Very nice sound. Great vocal moments and quite the verity of song styles. Finished the album with no big complaints.

Horses by Patti Smith
Apr 03 2025

I enjoyed that a lot more than I expected! I understand Pattis voice may not be for everyone, but I thought she delivered a stellar vocal performance. She voice paired with her poetry tells story's that I want to hear and enjoy. The instrumentation is powerful and has good style. Really no complaints even got stuck in my head a little.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Apr 04 2025

Completely brightened my day. Just great songs and a perfect vibe. The tracks on this album aren't necessarily groundbreaking but the impressiveness comes in the fact that it's all so consistent. The vocals and music never dip below excellent and it's all the island vibes I wanted 100% of the time. This results in a great experience that I will likely return to.

New Forms by Roni Size

Great to do homework to.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Apr 08 2025

Short and sweet, wanted a little more but overall pretty fun.

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Apr 09 2025

Very awesome. It felt like all the good parts of a gritty crime drama film OST. I know that is a specific itch to scratch, but this album scratched every bit of craving perfectly. It has the perfect run time and flows like butter with impressive confidence. It also sounded like this album was a blast to make, thus it sounded fun to hear. Overall, great example of a weird music idea executed with more talent and care than I expected.

Kimono My House by Sparks
Apr 10 2025

Very creative and enticing. It rocks, but it moves at such a pace that it's hard to remember what you just heard. It feels like every song has the same amount of energy as the last. Whether that's a good thing or not is up to you.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Apr 11 2025

Cozy vocals, fun vibe, and surprisingly good audio quality.
