Moondance is like waking up on a day off from work, you know it will end yet at the same time it feels like it could go on forever. It’s an album to have playing in the background with a gentle gathering of close friends while you all reminisce.
1994, the year I was born and also the year this album was released. Now, 30 years on - unlike myself, Yank Crime has aged nicely. Its punk, antiestablishment and-all- around “who cares” themes are present across all the tracks. It’s loud and in your face. Albeit this would not be my first choice, however, listening to this album does inspire me to stick it to the “man”. Notable standouts, Sinews, Hand over Fists and Golden Brown.
This Album was not particularly interesting to me. I found it quite boring and slow. No standouts.
25 By Adele is a solid album. It’s class and pain through and through. Themes of commitment and emotional turmoil are peppered from start to finish. Notable standouts, When we Were Young, Water Under the Bridge and Love in the Dark.
Come Away With Me by Norah Jones feels like falling into love for the first time…soft, a little shy, but full of hope. It’s got that cozy, late-night vibe where everything’s quiet except your thoughts and that person you’re thinking about. There’s this sense of maybe this could be something real running through it. Notable standouts: Don’t know why, Come away with me, Shoot the Moon, One Fight Down and The Nearness of You.
Great album love the rock vibes. Feels like im in a small bar drinking beer with my buddies as we jam. Floor is sticky and the girls are mean. Notable standouts: Gold Soundz, Silence Kid, 5-4=Unity, Heaven Is a Truck
A classic.
Van Halen is classic rock music. Had a blast listening to this and it’s just fun to say “Van Halen”. Notable tracks 1984, Jump, Panama Hot for Teacher.
A Seat at the Table by Solange is brilliantly written. Each track tells a story and flows on to the next. It’s smooth, soul with a real voice behind it. It’s one to put on when you’re wanting empowerment. Notable tracks: all of them.
